Alright, so I have a hopefully easy question for some people here to answer for me!

I'm planning on making a room divider this summer before I move into my new apartment. (Think Japanese silk screen)
I already know how I'm going to do the frame but I'm curious about the screen part of it. I figure that I'll buy some white fabric and paint on it. Here's my question: what kind of fabric should I buy and what kind of paint should I use? I figured acrylic...but I think that maybe another kind might work better? And I'm really confused as to what kind of fabric I should use.

Advice is welcome! =) Thanks!

Erm.. Please pardon me if this is a silly question.

I've just bought some fimo and polymer clay to work on.

Am i able to keep any leftovers?

How do i store them?

and for how long can i store them?

thanks for helping.

My sewing area is almost CLEAN now, and I unburied the project table and adjusted it to the right height for working! I knocked 5 items off my to-do pile (including a dress to skirt conversion)in one evening. Nothing to show off yet, but that can change now. There's such a thing as too much craft stuff.
And so this isn't a picture-free post, here's a costume I made a few years back:

Hey guys, relatively new here, and I just had a quick question.

What's the easiest way to make princess sleeves )? I checked the memories, couldn't find anything useful.

Thanks in advance!

Not only do I have a bag & purse addiction, I seem to have this kookey skirt reconstructed to purse addiction. I've started it and I can't stop it! (There's a lame "Oops, I did it again and again and again again" joke in here somewhere.)

My requisites:

-Skirt has to be cute, preferably with flowers, because, well, flowers are friendly, you see.
-Has to be cheap, typically thrifted or ebay'd.
-Has to not fit me. Which is never a problem. Ahem.

So here we go again, this time I found 2 of the same, in different (small girlie) sizes:

And here I've actually been productive for the upcoming craft fair. Yay me.

I'm still sewing as much as I can for the Toronto Fan Expo in September. I am about half way done with the amount of bags I need for that weekend but I still want to do up some cosmetic/coin bags with zippers for it as well. I need to start playing around with the zippers to figure out how to attach them to the bags.

If you want to see what I've finished over the last two weeks take a look...

Bought some new beads last night.. and finally bought some closures so I can make necklaces and bracelets! I was looking at my beading supplies and realized.. I didn't have ANYTHING to make other than earrings... how weird, eh? Buying stuff always makes me want to use it RIGHT AWAY.

so here is the product of my motivation )

I would have taken a picture of the two with me wearing them except I lack digital camera essentials.. like.. batteries.

The necklace is brighter and the donuts are less pink in reality and it goes great with this new shirt I got last weekend :-) (White polo shirt with orange, yellow and red strips across the chest)

I'm not really pleased with the bracelet, at all. I think I'll rip it apart and go at it a different way, any suggestions?

Hey Guys!
Wanting to pick your brains... I'm a Guide leader (girl scout) and we are running a camp in August on the CANDYLAND theme. So, all the leaders are dressing as characters from it and such. Only thing is, I have *crafts* to organise and I can't think of any easy, relatively inexpensive ones for the girls to do around the candy theme! We're already doing lots of cooking ones, like gingerbread houses.

Any creative ideas?!
Thanks in advance!

hi everyone. i just joined this site, and am new to diy. i'm currently tying to get into jewelry making one: because it's fun two: becos ide like to make it into a small business on the side. since i'm new to this i do have a question. i have been buying chains from michaels, but i have been looking for chains like this:
http://www.etsy.com/get_jpg_detail_image.php?image_id=99608 http://www.etsy.com/view_item_sold_anon.php?listing_id=39120&transaction_id=8556
blue one in different colors. michaels and total crafts didn't have any, and ive been trying to find some online, but i'm not exactly sure of it's name so it hasn't been successful. i was thinking maybe at the petstore? does anyone know where i can buy these? also, where can i buy colorful thick ballchain in bulk too?

Did these paintings recently and I just love how they turned out. I wish that the pictures turned out better but with all the sparkles in the paint and the gold paint in the dolphins it is really hard to get good pictures. The paintings are 4 by 5.5 inches

Hello crafters.

I'm getting a Bichon pup in the next couple of weeks and have already spoiled the little guy to bits with a welcome basket, but I would love to make him (and the family pooch so he's not left out) some more dog toys. I have recipes and recipes for dog biscuits, but has anyone ever made their pets toys before? If so, can you point me in the direction or share some tutorials? Thanks a bunch!

EDIT: t-shirt braided rope dog toy )

I was directed here from greatestjournal from the community at: http://fashionesque.greatestjournal.com. Anyway, I searched through the memories and the journal for the post, but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to find out how these designs of jewelry were made: www.alexandchloe.com and at http://www.myspace.com/sommerandlauren but more specifically, I'd really like to know how alex and chloe transformed metal pieces like.

I am very frustrated because I have a lot of ideas for jewelry, but no way to bring them out in form--anything you can contribute would greatly be appreciated and sorry for my newbieness.

OK, I see that this is a bit overdue. I apologise to [livejournal.com profile] dubious_soul for the tardiness. Things started to get on top of me… Also, I don’t know how useful or explicit I can be. I am not the best person for these things (eg: I have a degree in Math, I tutored a kid in Math – he flunked!)

Anyway... Loads of maybe useless pics under the cut... )
