My Brother is soon to be a Father...scary thought. Anyway they want a Noah's ark themed baby shower. What I need help with most of all is the favors. I need something cheap and "original" I'm really not into the whole plastic pasifiers and booties... I want something nice... any ideas?

any other ideas to help out with decorations or crafty noah themed gifts would be great too. Thanks in advance!

Recently, I have been crafting a hella lot. The amount of Cartoon Network I watch has gone significantly skyward, because I need something to listen to/occasionally glance at while I busy my fingers (...gross).

Basically, some shit has gone down and I am using iPod cozies and duct tape as a coping mechanism. It's a lot better than what I used to do, though, so no worries! A PLUS???

The first thing I did was this book alteration. It was my first one evah, and it was just a basic hollowing. My World Religions teacher (who also teaches psych) had to get rid of a bunch of old psych books, and she let us take them. This one is just an old guy talking about how great it was to be a total square in the fifties. Also drugs are bad and why are our teenagers having sex???

It became this... )

I feel bad about crafting all of this, especially since 50% of it will not be used. I'm hoping that I can give it away to someone who will actually use it.

Mutant Bag

So earlier this month I went to Warped where I met Vinnie from Less Than Jake, he saw my zombie bag and asked where I bought it. When I told him I made it he seemed a bit impressed. He said he loves stuff so I offered to make him a bag. After some exchange in emails I got the graphic from his toy company and I started work on a messenger bag to hold his laptop.

Here is the fruits of my labor. I would change a few things but I'm very happy with it.

Is there any way to do this ripple/wave effect on scarves in crochet??
Thank you in advance :)
-Katherine

EDIT: I found more results when I googled "ruffle", rather than wave or ripple. Thanks for your help! PS - check out these really neat ones: http://images.google.com/images?q=crochet%2C%20ruffle%20scarf&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wi

First off I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone here that responded to my plea for knitting help. I got it figured out thanks to you girls and am working on making something now that I'll post when it's finished. I thought I'd post a couple of my older clay things to try and inspire me into getting off my butt and making something now.

Made with remnant leather and recycled cane handles from a garage sale bag. Handsewn with a green pocket inside, but that picture didn't turn out very clear.

finally, i made something for myself. i've been so busy making bags and such to sell to raise money for college, but i decided the other day that the bag i've been planning for my new school bag since the beginning of june was going to be finally made.

first, let's start with this: last time me and my friends went into the city, my best friend bought one of those loop/andy warhol totes at urban outfitters. for thirty eight bucks. i thought that was insane, but i loved the bag. i decided to create my own, with something that i loved painted on it... a side street in new york.

the original tote, the picture i took in the city that i based mine off of...

look! more pictures! )

still more )

thanks for looking. :D
*heart* jenny.
