Last Thursday, several of my friends decided to deviously plot for someone's 18th birthday and what we could do. One of the ideas was to create pirate cupcakes for him. But not just any old pirate cupcakes, pirate cupcakes with edible ships on top! So my cohorts, Mud and Wabbit, joined me in the creation of these beauties on the morning of that day and of course they turned out awesome. :D Here is the l00t of the b00ty in picture format! :D

So, today is garage sale day. And well since I'm 18 and looking for things to furnish my soon to be home, I went looking. I stopped at one which had a papasan chair, it was in decent shape, the only problem with it was the cushion. It was this icky blue color, and had a few spot stains on it. Yea, I know that's what I get for looking at garage sales, but the chair and foot stool were six dollars, there was no way I was leaving that.

Now, on to my question. Has anyone ever made a cover for one, or know of a pattern to make a slip cover for it. I could do a make-shift, toss a sheet over it and wrap it around it, but I'd like it to look nice. So, if anyone has any links, or ideas, please, let me know.

I had already hit up google, but all I could find were sites that sell replacement cushions, and ones selling entire papasan chairs. So Thanks for any and all help!

I've spent the majority of the last month working on a crochet pattern for a small clucth purse. I've seen improvements from Version 1 to Version 2 to Version 3, and I'm working on Version 4. Below the cut are pictures of Versions 1 and 2.

Happy fun picture time! )

Obviously, Versions 1 and 2 both had their flaws, but I think I managed to work out most of them in Version 3

Version 3 with a handful of assembly photos and information )

The only downside to Version 3 is that I didn't pay quite enough attention to the length of it, so it's a bit longer than I intended. However, it's the perfect size to work as a make-up bag for when I'm traveling, and it takes up less space than my toiletries bag, so I'm calling it a win.

Comments, critiques, questions, and advice are all welcome.

Can anyone suggest a good product for silver plating metal (specifically brass and copper)?

Thanks in advance.

And, just so that this isn't text only, here is a picture of my most recent necklace creation (A revamp on my sacred heart pendants):

Hey everyone! I absolutely love this community, but sadly, have never posted. Hopefully once I actually accomplish something I feel worthy of sharing, I'll make my first real post. For now I just have some questions.

I came across this bag on a website: http://www.bittersweetgenevieve.com/handsewnpages/Handbags/1pouch.html

I was wondering how you would put a picture on something like that. It seems as if they just got some sort of plastic slip, put the picture in, and sewed it up the other side. Does anyone have suggestions where to get a slip like that?

Also, I was thinking of decorating the ceiling fan in my room. I'm planning to take a bunch of sheet music, probably age it a little, then make a collage of music on the blades. What kind of sealer should I use for this?

Just so there's a picture of something somewhat more personal, here's the link to a shirt my friend designed: http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/page.jsp?title=redhotshop&ref=sc_iw_l_1

Hi y'all! First time poster!

Does anyone know if you can buy neoprene* at fabric stores? or where I can get it? If it is somewhere in the memories and I missed it, I apologize.

I am looking for instructions on how to make simple crochet flowers to pin onto my (very) plain backpack. The operative word being SIMPLE...
Heh... I know how to do very basic stitches, but I don't understand patterns at all. After a while, they get all 6sc2ndchainjoinwithslstblahblahblah and out of frustration, I give up...

Maybe ones like these:

Uh, the yellow/pink ones in the middle?

Are there any step by step guides any of you girls (or boys?) have used and understood before? Preferrably with pictures? Thanks!
