Hi! <3
I want to make some razor blade pendants. I cant find them anywhere, so I was wondering if I would be able to make them by myself out of real razor blades?

These are the type of razorblade:

Anyone know what this type is called, btw?
Anyways, I bought a necklace from a girl a while back but I lost it and I want to make my own, I think I remember her saying she made them out of real razor blades. The one she sold me was very thin and bendable and not sharp. Are they usually thin and flimsy? How would I go about dulling them?

ANY help would be MUCHO appreciated.

Thanks :)

I'm in the middle of making jewelry out of circuit boards, and I'm wondering if anyone has ever attempted this before. Anybody got any advice for me?

I'll be posting the pics when I'm done! Sorry this is text-only.

UPDATE:

I found a WILD site that displays circuit-board art by the incredibly talented Marion Martinez. Her stuff has an added dimension of being inspired by the Christian or Catholic faith. Check out the gallery:

Of course, I'm not aiming to do anything as complicated and fantastic as this. I just want to make some necklaces and earrings. :)

I made finger puppets for my son! There are 5 of them and there is a Monster Motif. All that has to be done is sew the linings in and they're finished. I want to do more sets (like robots, a fairytale, Christmas-y, faeries, seasons, etc etc) and try to sell them. I hate having to ask my hubby for extra money to support my crafty habit, and plus if they sell like hotcakes, maybe I'll have a little extra to contribute to the family. What do you think of them? )

*These are not for sale, just wanted to share. And get opinions on whether you think other sets might sell!

I’ve had a sewing machine since Monday.  Since then I’ve made some pillows, some curtains, some cat beds a ferret coat, a chair cover and a purse.

Same ole same ole you see here all the time so I didn’t bother to post my newbie stuff as I had just about never touched a sewing machine till I got mine at the beginning of this week.

So I was sitting around thinking …hmmm what could I make what could I make?  Ohhhh how about a  doll?  How about a unique voodoo doll.

So I present the…

i need help! i'm having a difficult time trying to make collard shirts. i attempted a deep v-cut which went fine, but everytime i go for an oval shape, the collar ruffles instead of the smooth line you normally see on shirts and things.

do any of you know where i can find a tutorial on how to make proper collars? i can't seem to find any.

EDIT - sorry, i should have specified. by collar, i just meant the regular lining of a tshirt, around the neck, as in this picture.

So I was given the task of making a ringbearer pillow for a wedding tomorrow.  I really hope she likes it.  Autumn gave me a sash that was supposed to be for one of the girls dresses, but they aren't using them and I cut it up and sewed it up.  I found a ribbon and it seemed to go well with it so the rings could be tied on.

I just finished my entries for the Maryland Renaissance Festival pirate costume contest tomorrow.
For my older son... lil dragon... I made the hat, coat, vest, shirt, jabot(the lacy collar thing), and pants. The belt has a silver skull buckle... we found it at Target.

For my little one... baby wolfie... I made the hat, vest, shirt, jacket, jabot, pants, and since I couldn't find black baby boots I painted some pink suede ones I found at Target.

The hats were Mc Calls 4805 sized down and adapted to make tricorns. Lil Dragon's coat, vest, and jabot were Mc Calls 4626. The pants and shirt were Simplicity 4438. They don't make a pirate coat in infant sizes... so I adapted a little girl's dress coat Butterick 4009 to be in the style of a pirate coat. The pants and shirt were Simplicity 4018. The jabot I came up with my own idea... so it would be safe for a baby(lace stitched on some fabric which is stitched to a thick elastic band).. it he pulls on it it will stretch... not choke.

I apologize for crossposting:P

I`ve looked everywhere, but couldn`t find a cute little elephant pattern. I`m looking to make a tiny little elephant that looks like this:

Anyone know where I could find a pattern like it? [without buying the book, because I need this done by the weekend =/]

thanks!
