i made a sleeve for my laptop yesterday morning.
i broke two needles and seriously messed up my sewing machine doing it. (it needs to be oiled, something i've never done.. my mom's always done it and possibly serviced)

but i love it.

it was my first sewing project in months and i'm pretty proud of the way it turned out, especially from scratch.
if you like the fabric, i believe it's a wal mart exclusive print, though i could be wrong.
thanks for taking a look!

My dog is turning 2 on Oct 7th. We are having a party for her on the 8th... basically its an excuse to have some people over for some drinks and food but I still want to keep it like a birthday party. I wanted to make some party favors but Im fresh out of ideas. there wont be any other dogs at the party so I want the favors to be easy to make and people friendly.

sorry for the text only post

A new addition to the family. I've had the eggplant in mind for a while, finally got around to making it.

This one is big enough to fit a cellphone in, plenty of ID cards, cash, a Diva cup and the like. I wish I had a better camera, my cheap one doesn't do it justice.

I lined this one with a yellow/white gingham. Thought it would be the most similar to the actual inside of an eggplant, but cuter.

Ok, I broke away from being healthy, and made a cupcake. This one took awhile to make, with all the detailing, I had to do alot of it by hand and it has a lining. I love the lining, it has ice cream cones, lollipops, cupcakes, candy, and the like printed on it and says "sweet"...

It hold ID cards perfectly, wide enough to hold a few cards, dollars, and such. I'm thinking it could hold mp3 players, too, depending on the size.

Ok, here she is, I'm happy with this lil' gem! Enjoy!

Hokay.

I want to buy an old teddy bear from a thrift store for crafting purposes. Seeing as it will be used, how would I go about cleaning it? I'm afraid washing it will make the fur go all funny. Any suggestions?

P.S. I'll post some pictures of the finished product(s) later on, once I make something. Whatever it is.

Fernando!

First off - Happy Fall Everyone! The Halloween season is upon us!
I'm wondering if any of you wonderful crafty people can help me out with a Halloween-related crafting conundrum.
I am SO FREAKIN EXCITED because this year, I am the Haunted House Co-Ordinator for York University's Halloween Bash! :D So awesome. Anyway, I have a question for anyone who has done haunted houses or any sort of heavy duty decorating - what are some things that can be used as inexpensive wall covering, or even wall-buiding material? I'd like to veer away from the traditional black-garbage-bag solution, because while nice and cheap, it just looks too... well, cheap. I'd like to keep it cheap as much as possible, but I find the shinyness of the bags too distracting and a constant reminder that you are in a man-made haunted house... I dunno, I find it prevents you from really getting into it? Maybe that's just me, but I wanted to look into other options like maybe a really inexpensive black fabric or  maybe sheets of black plastic? Possibly some-other-material + black spraypaint? What have others done?

So,.. I'm trying to make some team shirts for my lifeguard team.

Our team name is Smells Like Teen Patrick.
Patrick is the father of our team.

I need an idea for a hilarious design that I can silk screen, and who is more hilarious than all of you!?!?

Give me anything you've got.

I love you

haha! my last post isn't even cold yet! here's another:
+a millionty shirts )
Woww, I haven't posted this much in like two years! I've just been so lazy in taking phtoos of my shirts but I have been sewing like crazy! This summer was a major improvement period in my sewing. I'm real happy in how I've progressed, so these are in chronological order so you can see, lawlz

Anyhow, if i put some of these shirts on ebay or something for bid like shrinkle and other people do, would I make a (tidy) sum? My shirts would fit larger girls (cos I am pretty weighty) and I don't see a lot of fun recon out there in a size more than a small!

p.s. i should probably mention that I've been too lazy to learn how to use my coverlock machine to hem the bottoms of the shirts, hahaha. It'll be done at some point!

p.p.s. does someone have a shrinkle/limecrime/supayana garment that they could photograph inside out for me? i haven't the lifeof me figured out what to do with stitch or overlock tails.. I usually spend a lot of time weaving them into the shirt but how do you guys do it!!!

Constructive Criticism is great!! and I wouldn't turn down new friends both on lj and on flickr!

so i'm a crocheter and really want to make rugs out of "rags". Basically, the rag rugs are made out of fabric scraps that are connected, like...scrap balls?! If you're following this, I give you props. Anyway, my question is, how do you make these fabric scrap balls?! i'm so confused about how it's achieved. Thanks for the help!
