hi - i am looking for a pattern (knit hopefully but maybe crochet, i am learning to crochet!) - for gloves/wristwarmers. maybe with individual finger holes but not full gloves? not necessarily finger holes though, just one that would cover most of the hand would be good too.

i checked the memories, and couldn't find quite what i was looking for, but i do seem to recollect that someone posted a similar pattern quite recently. can anyone help me out?

sorry about the text only, but i need some help...

a couple months ago, a good friend of mine was diagnosed with leukemia. she's 11 years old (i was her nanny since she was 5, for about 6 years on and off, so she's really like a sister or cousin to me).

at any rate, she's going in for a bone marrow transplant this month, and her support community has started an inspiration calendar. everyday, for the course of her transplant and recovery (a couple months) people have signed up to send her something in the mail, numbering the package, which she'll open in order, one each day. she's very adamant that she doesn't want any gifts or flowers or balloons or any money spent on her, as she'd rather have it go toward cancer research associations. so i'm kinda perplexed what to do. i was thinking maybe knitting a scarf (i already have tons of yarn, don't need to buy any)... since she lives in washington and it's gonna get chillier soon. she and her family are also very religious (i'm not so much), and i only mention that incase somebody knew of faith-based crafts?

but yeah... thoughts? something that is homemade, but not extravagant, you know what i mean?

thanks!!

Hi:D I just made a shirt and dress. I really like how the dress turned out. I didn't use patterns or anything for these.

In honor of Christmas creeping into the stores too early this year: polymer clay critters that shouldn't be in Santa hats.

Lots of large pics! )

I guess it's a clay sort of day. I just finished a bunch of clay Christmas ornaments (that don't fit on my scanner, so no pics yet) but the scraps from the project made some cute swirly hearts based off the very talented Barb Fajardo's tutorial.

Hey guys...

I was cleaned out today and found a stash of cancelled postage stamps from different countries. Does anyone have any idea what I can do with them? The stamps very in size from rectangular to very small and I was considering using them as element so a collage but I was wondering if anyone else had any different ideas.

Any help would be much appreciated.
