Does anyone know any good website which sells pretty fabric?

So, I've got this large aluminum coffee can and I really hate to throw it away. I like to do occasional crafts projects for fun. And it's close to Christmas, sooooo...

Do you guys have any ideas for me on what to do with it? Maybe some type of Christmas gift idea?

I also have this ) so I don't have lots of extra time. A fast/easy project would be most desirable. Oh, and I can't sew a stitch...

I did an lj seek for "cookie ornaments" and I couldn't find what I'm looking for.

What I am looking for is a recipe for those good smelling long lasting ornaments that you cut out of dough with cookie cutters. I made one in girl scouts over 10 years ago and I'm sure we still have it. This one I am pretty confident, was made of some kind of gingerbread or really nutmeggy dough. I also saw one on here something about applesauce and white glue? Help pleasies!

Holiday reminder!

Regardless on your chosen winter holiday of choice, you are running out of time to make presents!

If this panic results in a brain-blanking “OMG, whatever am I going to do…I have noooooo idea?” I am happy to remind you that the [livejournal.com profile] crafty_gifts community exists to help you with those questions.

If you are not freaking out because you are the sort of person who is organized, made a list, checked your craft stashes and planned accordingly…I’m green with envy and I’m sure that [livejournal.com profile] crafty_gifts would love your help.

Hello. This year we'll have our very first Christmas tree in our new apartment, so I've been hard at working making decorations.

hello ladies!

this is my first time posting to this community, although i've been stalking you all for a few weeks :-)

first, i just want to say that all of your crafting has really inspired me to start creating things on my own. i was never a regular crafter. i love visual arts, and have always liked making things, but never had any motivation. but you guys have gotten me moving, and i am having such an awesome time!

so, here it is! my first craft project:

This year I made an advent wreath for my family. I am pleased with the results. And I made a tree skirt because I can never find one I love that doesn't cost a mini-fortune. So I bought some material last year and was pressed to make it last week since we got our tree the day after Thanksgiving!

onto the Christmas tree skirt... )

Thanks for looking!

i found its easier to use little bits of double sided tape to stick all the arms together as the stapler was beastly and crumpled bits!
[identity profile] petatron.livejournal.com
how do you have all of your fabric organised?
currently i have it in boxes and plastic bags and just all over the place.
i've started a scrap box in a plastic box that i had spare. i'm not going to be able to do anything til next week when i get paid again.
i'm looking for some ideas on what to do with it all. i don't even know what i've got, thats how much fabric i have.
i've got the potential to set up a pretty decent sewing area, but at the moment its just one big mess and i don't even want to look at it.

I made a few mini zombies. I think they are adorable.

I have uncovered a lot of stationary, address books, and cards while I was in the middle of cleaning my room. I don't want to throw them away but I also don't know what to do with them. Any ideas?

Hey guys :)

What kind of tape do you guys use to make your mannequins? And do you fill it with something afterwards? Like, to make it more steady and stuff... O.x I can't seem to find the right words today. :P Hope someone understands what I'm trying to say ;) A really good guide to make an easy and cheap (but still useable) mannequin would be great. :)

Did you know that a traditional third wedding anniversary gift is leather?
Isn't that interesting?
I kept thinking of typical male, leather goods.
And I kept coming up with the very boring and somehow, not exactly ideal: belt, gloves, wallet, shoes.
Did I really want to give my lovey a belt for our third? Um, no.

So here is what I did. )

So I've been doing my best to make all gifts this year. well, ok, some people are getting books, but other than that, everything is handmade! Here is the apron I made for my mother-in-law. The patchwork is composed of pieces of my daughter's baby clothes. aww for grandma!

I know this is kind of a broad question, but can anyone recommend how to start making rings? I would appreciate any help; like where to find supplies and stuff like that.

an example of what I would like to try and make would be those 'mod rings' by tarina tarantino

Thanks in advance!
