I am thinking about purchasing some diamond glaze to make bottlecap pendants and magnet sets.

However, I was curious about your opinions first: what has been your experience with Diamond Glaze? Does it dry up quickly in the bottle/get all over everything/make a hard mess to clean up/ruin surfaces...? Or is it easy to use and effective? Any tips?

Also, a google search found several small scrapbooking sites online that sell the glaze, but I was wondering if more mainstream craft stores might also carry it? (And what's a good price? it seems to be just under $5.00/bottle on average).

Thanks :)

I tried, but I've always failed at finding what I'm looking for in the memories

I know I have it saved on my other computer, too, but I can't access my other computer right now ;.;

Does anyone remember that handkerchief halter top from a WHILE ago (had to be at LEAST a year) I can't find it at ALL, and I just want to see what it looks like so I can make my own

TIA

I'm knitting scarves for my 9 year old and my 7 year old neices. I curious as to length. I wanted them to be the "longer" style, but I know long on me at 5'11" will be floor dragging on them. Any clues as to length? Thanks!

So I finally got around to getting out my wirework box this week and getting some stuff done.

I should know this but I don't. I can't figure out how to make a bracelet that doesn't have a clasp, one that looks like one single continuous strand of beads. I've tried google but all I ended up finding were shops online.

our Advent calendar
I designed this for the current issue of Mosaic Minds, you can find out how to make your own here. Since we have no children, ours is filled with candy for my husband Robert. I like the idea of filling it with non-sugar laden items like promises of activities, baking time, story telling etc. But Robert doesn't appreciate that sort of thing as much as he likes his candy. haha

A little googling informed me that these were really popular on crafty blogs a couple years ago. I guess something reaches internet passe-hood when it shows up in a Martha Stewart magazine (which is where I got the pattern from), but who cares, they're cute anyway!

here are some patterns:

old man hat

I need a quick, easy, stodgy old man's knit hat pattern. There is suddenly a stodgy old man (though, as far as I can tell he is neither quick nor easy) on my gift list and as much as I've searched I cannot for the life of me find the right pattern for a hat for him. Please, if anyone can help I'll be very grateful.
Thanks!

Okay now, so a bit ago I made these.
And then a short while after that, I made these.
Soon after that, my friend [livejournal.com profile] caitlinmary asked me for a tutorial and like 8 million weeks passed.
My brother-in-law's co-worker Rachael asked me to make her 2 of the frames and I figured this was a great opportunity to sit down and finally do the play-by-play.
(Sorry it took so long Caitlin!!!)

So with all that, here we go dearies, a felt frame tute!

To all you craftsters who have your own website...
1) Which host do you use?
2) How much do you pay?

Thank you!!

there! All edited... no more asking for links to people's sites.

I wanted to make "thank you" cards for my teachers who wrote college recommendations for me. I finished one today, and I'm really happy with it, though it took forever to do.

It looks much better in person than in photos. Flash.

Now I need to make two more. I'm going to make another one very similar to this one for my other female teacher but I'll change the ribbon and the colors of the flowers. But I'm not sure what to do for my male teacher. I don't want to use this design since it's quite feminine. In place of the ribbon, I have string that looks like rope. I'm not sure what to paint on the cover, though. Any ideas?

Note:
The design on the front is NOT mine. It's from threadless.com with slight changes.

sock cats!

does anyone know where i can find a pattern kinda like this (sock dog) but for making a sock cat?

i have two pairs of funky knee high socks. they are sooo soft. i also picked up some embroidery floss in the hopes that it'd be good enough for sewing things up. plus it'll be hand sewn. no sewing machine.

anyway, i want to make a cute stuffed sock cat (minus the scented stuff) that doesn't look like a sock monkey and looks a bit more uhm... cool? funky? well, has the same kinda feel as that sock dog.

i've been poking around w/ google to no avail.

any help is muchly appreciated!

oh and it has to be a bit cuddly. not a stiff stuffed cat.
