Anything I should know before sewing a quilt comprised of that soft fleece material? (It will be a Christmas present for my grandmother, who likes soft, pink things!) Tracing was the dickens, but hopefully that was the worst of it. :)

I AM POSTING PICURES AND NOT JUST TEXT.

This is an accomplishment.

I've been on a marble magnet craze and have made some for some friends. Altoid tins are very scarce around these here parts (for some reason?!) and I'm not sure that all the magnets would fit in it anyway. I'm going to check the dollarstore for little tins tomorrow but I need to figure out SOMETHING to do if I can't find tins. I was thinking putting them on cardstock but I'm not sure how I would place them or how to make them stick.......

I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas regarding this! Any help would be totally appreicated.

Hi!

I'm very interested in buying a 2 1/4" button press to make pocket mirrors. The only site that I've found that carries this size button press and the mirror parts is Badge A Mint. Does anyone use their items? Is it sturdy? Is it worth $300?

I'm looking for the best value for my money and somewhere that doesn't charge a whole lot for shipping since I'm up in Canada.

Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

I had this idea because my roommate is the biggest jewelry junkie ever and she keeps a majority of it in plastic baggies. So, I made her this:

I got an off-cut custom frame f/ Jo-Ann's and made one side cork board covered in fabric and the other side tulle. I also found hook push-pins from Target!

I tried searching and the FAQ, but couldn't find anything for these. Possibly I am being a spazz and not searching using the right words or something. :-/

1. does anyone know how the clever people at helpless romantic made photographs into plastic charms? or how to make a picture into a charm at all, really?

It doesn't have to be as good quality as theirs. I'd order it off the site, but I was to make a lot of photo charms as part of a present, and it would be really expensive to order them individually like that.

2. does anyone know how to transfer an image onto ceramics?

me and my fiance are making wall hanging sleads with christmas paintings on them as a gift to all out aunts and our moms. my question is....what kind of protectant should i use on them with out effecting the painting.i was thinking some kind of spray? the stuff i used on it is : water based wood stain, acrylic paints, sharpies, lumocolor water proof permanent marker, pigment ink (photo safe, acid free, archival quality, lightfast, water proof, fade proof, non bleeding, smearproof)

once they are all finished ill post up pictures

Deck the halls with your broken and extra action figures by using them in this festive wreath for the holiday season. It's a great way to get your toys in the yuletide spirit!

This wreath is a traditional green, but you can have fun making different themed wreaths featuring your figures such as all white for Hoth or red for Mustafar!

Another holiday gift down!

Using this awesome tutorial from AllSorts.com, I made these coasters for a friend of mine who just moved into her own apartment. She's going to love the fabrics, and I hope she likes the coasters, too. They are super simple to make (no hand finishing!), and come out wonderfully.

Modifications I made from the tutorial: I didn't use any interfacing or inner layer of fabric. They're still pretty firm and nice, and will protect her table well.

Please ignore the wine fabric I was using as a make-shift ironing board. Click for a bigger view! It's much better close up.

in progress and wrapped )

Another slightly crafty note: I was in the grocery store when I learned I needed to have most of my holiday presents wrapped and ready to go the next morning. I grabbed some candy canes, ribbon, and brown paper bags, and it was perfect for all of my hand-knit presents that were squishy (and it was a lot cheaper than gift bags). )

I have been really busy with crafting gifts for family this year. I really hope my brothers, nephew will like their things.

For my mom, I've been having a blast making her things. I know she'll like what I made her. I think this little guy I made, after learning how to make them from [livejournal.com profile] stolenmilkcrate's tutorial found here. <--click 'here' for link to tut.

I made my mom a chibi like, lucky cat!

More beyond the cut )

Oh and I made a character hat based off this hat tutorial (I forgot the link to where it's located here at craftgrrl FAQ, but this is something I saw someone else had made and I knew I had to make one for my nephew!)

See my try at a character hat! )

I'll post more of what I've made later ^__^ This was my crafty christmas!
