These are sets of cards for my friends for Christmas since funds are super low this year. One of my friends ended up framing the last set I gave her so I hope these are as popular. ...

A pocket mirror I made. I've been on a pocket-mirror-making-spree. I've made over 50 of them in the last week. Most of them have vintage images on them, but this one is one of my own drawings. It's inspired by a 1920's illustration I came across in the midst of all of old papers and things that I obsessively collect.

I have read up on lipgloss and lipbalm recipes recently and I have discovered a few things I thought I would compile into a list for easier access. I have also added some tips and tricks of my own including products that get around having to buy expensive bee's wax from health food stores.

Hey guys,

Im new to this community. My name is Shaina, I am 19 and from Nebraska. I've recently become unemployed and would like to find something to spend my time on and maybe make some money in the process. Does anyone know of any good instructions on how to make car air fresheners?

Thanks in advanced!

I've been quite prolific in my jewelry lately. Trips to Sacramento and Hawai'i in the last few months resulted in discovering some fantabulous unfamiliar bead stores and some fun new sparklies for me to play with.

This is pretty off topic but,
A lady posted some of her crafts on her a few months back and for the life of me I cannot remember her username or anything that might take me to her journal. She was in the process of making things that were her favourites? Or things that meant something to her? She was on about #8 I think the last time I checked. I'm sure one of the items were hands. Sorry if I'm not making much sense. Any help would be really appreciated as I'd just like to see how she's getting on with them. : )

I've been planning to make little dolls for my friends for Christmas for aaages, drafting random patterns and the like until finally, today, I actually made the first of them. After my first attempt looked rather like a condom, I reworked my pattern and finally, finally, the first has been finished!

And she's under the cut. )

So for Christmas, I want to make sketchbooks out of two used paperback books I bought. I've read all the tutorials, and get the basic concept, but I want to do a few things differently than what is done in the instructions, so I just want to make sure it'll turn out alright.

First, obviously, my books are paperback, not hardcover. will they be strong enough or will they just be flimsy and fall apart?

Second, I wanted to use sketchbook paper, rather than plain computer paper. What is the easiest way to fold the pages so they're all the same size since the paper is so rigid? Or is it just best to use computer paper?

Aaaaand lastly, does just gluing the stack of pages to the first and last pages really work? or will they just tear out from the weight of the paper?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer. =]

necklace i made a friend for christmas, nothing out of the ordinary, but it was my first time making jewellery in awhile, and my first time playing with plastics.

question: what's the best way of opening and closing jump rings? i ended up opening them with my fingers (which hurt like hell) and then closing them by clamping them tight with pliers, but that didn't always work too great. suggestions?

I have a thick paper table cloth. That is bumpy. And I would like to put some photos on it. Like a collage or just placed randomly all over.

My question is, would regular t-shirt transfer paper i print at home on an ink jet ptinter work on a PAPER table cloth? I'm thinking it may not stick.
Of course I wouldn't put the iron directly on the paper table cloth.

I can't find any special transfer paper, or any other inexpensive methos that may work.

If it does not work I was thinking of using the number one method from this post I found in the memories, but I would use photo prints, not ink jet prints: http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/959749.html

WOuld this work? And would the cloth get hard from the prints?

I hope it's understood what I'm asking, no one else seems to get it.

So, my grandma calls me up BAWLING. I asked her what was wrong and she told me my cousin had stolen over 500 dollars from her. What makes it even worse, is that she was going to use it for Christmas money. I really want to help out and maybe get her some of that money back. Does anyone have any ideas? [I'm not selling anything here, so I hope this post is allowed. If not, I'll delete it.] I feel sooo terrible that this happened to her. She is such a good person. She does EVERYTHING for people and asks nothing in return. [she even let 3 people she did not know stay at her house...they were from Equador and were stuck in PA for a few days...their car broke down. They were here for some craft festival.] But anywho... Ideas? :[
