alright craft ladies and dudes
I haven't posted anything in a long time since i lost my digi cam. I finally finished my mario villain scarf. What a beast. it took forever due to my lack of, in the words of Principal Skinner, "sticktoitiveness"

edit: oh yeah i lined the back with fleece which makes it ridiculously warm and used a mattress stitch to keep it on there. then i did a few knots every few inches to keep it together.

also i charted the characters on paper so i dont have any on the computer. sorry! they are pretty easy though since they are all 8-bit.

I'm pretty broke this holiday season with lots of friends who I would like to show I was thinking about, so I pulled a recipe out of the archives and made bath salts!

Since the idea was to be thrifty, I used things I had around the house to scent them: coffee and green tea. )
My question is "Can I layer dry milk with the salts when I package it?"

Milk baths are very luxurious and go well with the coffee and tea motif. I'm only concerned about it going bad if I don't keep it perfectly dry or refriderated.

Any ideas?

So I was looking for some last minute gifts for my friends, and I grabbed three little cans of Yerba Mate (mmmm). I didn't want to be lame and just wrap them (bo-ring), but I'm also a cheap perosn, so I used a little phonetic association and came up with:

i pity the fool )

Sorry text only.

Ok, I got a dumb question, but what is a Gocco? From what I've read it's a screen print type system? And the original manufacteur is going to stop making them. But what's the hub-bub about?

Thanks!

I'm going crazy not being able to share my giftmas pressies (kinda hard to do that and keep a suprise when the recipient lives with you, shares the computer, and owns the digital camera that would be taking the pics). So, instead, I give to you shiny:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Sorry for the image quality, it was taken a while ago, and I can't seem to find the piece in question (This post was sparked by me cleaning a bunch of my silver jewelry). I really wanted a slave bracelet that fit right on my super tiny wrists, so I made one.

P.S. And I still haven't found the right sterling silver spider charm to go on it. Any ideas?

my computer has been having problems lately and I lost some things that I thought I had bookmarked and have been trying to recreate them. I have gone back about 200 posts trying to find one in craftgrrl (now I am beginning to think that I imagined it) but it was about a gift box with a rhyme or poem that the person had written for it. Did this post exist? If it dose and my mind isn't totally gone I would be eternally gratful if someone could help me find it!

Happy Holidays!

I made these pillows for a friend of mine for Christmas. They are entirely made of leftover/unwanted scraps/parts.

I've never made pillows before and for some reason it was really exciting that a) I didn't let this task fizzle out before finishing, and b) everything went as planned and I think they actually look pretty good.

They took forever, but I love the way they turned out!

Has anyone ever attempted this paper star? I've sat here and done it like three times and there is NO WAY that the one on the canister is done using the same instructions as what are given. The star I end up with doesn't lay flat around the edges because each little "portion" is essentially a rectangle and it has to be bent for it to look like the prongs of a star. Hopefully somebody gets what I'm saying in that last sentence!

I'm wondering if anyone could quickly attempt this star and maybe see if I'm just doing it wrong. The thing is so cute and I wanted to use a few of them in some of my Christmas wrapping.

Thanks!
