Question and Tote Bag
Jan. 26th, 2007 12:17 amLets see if I can communicate this well. I'm looking for the link to a store that has a physical location, but also has an online shop. At the shop you can buy lots of wacky items, including charms (like food charms that you would get in gum ball machines and Cracker Jack boxes and whatnot), and other dime store type things. Gah, not very descriptive ... I just remember that I wanted to buy food charms from there and I thought I saved the link ... where do you buy your funky charms?
Oh well ... here's a purse I made for a swap on Swap-bot ...
( If you're Minty from Swap-Bot and haven't gotten a package from weirdindy04 yet, don't click here) )
Thanks for browsing and thanks for any help you can provide on the site.

Hi all!
Help would be much appreciated.
I want to make a stuffie of the octopus cartoon from "Serenity" (the part where River whispers "Miranda" and then goes crazy).
Try as I might, I couldn't find an image on google. If any of you know where I could find one, or have an image already that you'd like to share, you would win for the day.
TIA

Knitty Alternative
Jan. 26th, 2007 11:29 amOkay, I adore www.knitty.com - & I'm just starting to crochet! While my skills aren't quite 'pattern-worthy' quite yet (trust me, you should see my swatch!) --
Is there a crochet-like alternative of knitty?
Thanks!

I'm a crafty person, and I understand kids....but sometimes my ideas seem to get repetitive! I'm a school based case manager, and so I am going to need to do some observations for my job....I would like to build a list of activities I could do that might work well one on one with the children, as well as in a group session. I've probably done more collages and decopauges than most kids can handle.....so toss some ideas around for me to put in my activity book, that is if you have the time!
Easter Felt Project
Jan. 26th, 2007 03:13 pmLast Easter, my two youngest sons came home from preschool with a cute little Easter decoration made out of construction paper. I loved it and decided I'd make the same thing with felt.
Finally almost a year later, I did!
( two pics behind the cut )

I just ordered 40 feet of chain...and fox shoes. Not that the shoes have anything to do with jewelry or crafts. Just thought I'd throw that in. :D Sooooo, I can't wait!

I don't know how to crochet, so I'm not sure how this would work, but is it possible to graft together a knit square and a crochet square if they're the same size? I'm sort of in charge of a new knitting/crochet group for church and we want to make either blankets or prayer shawls, but I think an easy way to begin is to have people make squares and then graft them together. However, some are exclusive at knitting and at least one woman only does crochet. I want to make sure this is possible before I implement it - is it?
Advice needed!
Jan. 26th, 2007 11:09 pmI'm hand-sewing a tote bag for my tattoo artist from this amazing skull and roses Alexander Henry fabric I know she'll love (I'm not stereotyping, she really does love skulls and things!) and I want to make sure it's nice and strong and doesn't fall apart at the seams after one use!
My question is, what stitch do you think would be the strongest one to use? A link to an online diagram would be much appreciated, as I never can link up stitches with their names :o)
Thanks guys!
