I'm sorry I don't have any pictures to post...my digital camera is at a friend's house and she's in Ireland right now. :(

But I do have a question. Does anyone know if any of the pattern companies make patterns for lap top bags/carriers? Alternately, has anyone on here come up with a good pattern? I got a free laptop from a friend and I want to keep it safe!

Thanks in advance.

Hello-
I am going to knit a vest for a beginning knitting class I am taking. Since I do not wear vests I am planning on making it for my grandmother. She wears a Petite Medium. Does anyone know where to get the measurements for this size? I don't want to get measurements from her because I want the gift to be a suprise.
Thanks!!

here is a mobile / installation / window display i made with a friend for her art show. we used matte construction paper + glue gun + string & felt (for the birds). assembling all the little trees by hand was exhaustive, but i think it was worth the effort. (sorry about the previous entry)

Super quick/easy project. All I did was take them apart, removed the the stands on the back of the frames, added pictures (art by Kira Imai), glued ribbon on the inside of the frame and put them back together.

i have been off in health issues world, so have not had to much time with my art or craft projects- however i did manage to finish up some items that i started 6 months ago. they are just a few of my silverware revamp. i have been making pendants out of vintage silverware. i have completed the below, however since they are old and have little imperfections i thought about bluing them or dipping them in silver. however if i blue them would it be safe to wear ( i will be googling my heart out later on this btw) and if i dip them in silver- what is cost effective? any thoughts???

Any machine knitters out there? )

EDIT:

Well, I did what any adventurous crafter would do and just went at it with some scissors. It worked!

Sorry for the lack of photos, I've got some to post tomorrow but am having problems with my camera. Anyway, two quick questions:

1) Does anyone know of a good way to "stiffen" felt? Essentially, I want to make pendants out of felt, but need some way to make it stiffer. Keep in mind that this would be worn against the skin, so it couldn't be anything toxic or irritating.

2) I saw a really expensive piece of jewelry that had round beads covered with lace. Does anyone have an thoughts on how one would go about making these? I thought of simply making plain white beads out of clay, covering them with glue, and wrapping them in lace, but I'm not sure how this would work, since obviously lace is full of holes, and it's not really great to have craft glue rubbing against your skin as you wear a necklace/bracelet. Any thoughts?
