We have leftover Easter grass from baskets. Saving it until next year is out of the question. It just never happens in our family for one reason or another. (Namely it usually ends up scattered all over the floor, and I'm griping as I clean it up.) I hate to just waste it, and I was wondering if it's ok to use it to stuff a small pillow or something similar. Anyone know?

ETA: It is the plastic stuff. I didn't even think to post that this morning. Sorry! I've gotten some great ideas, so thank you! :)

hey guys

ive been knitting little monsters for a while now, and filling them with the soft white polyester filling, which works fine.

but for my next foray, i want to knit a human heart, and i was to fill it with something like what they use for beanie babies, so its soft, but scrunchy and feels heavy. i looked up what they use, but i was wondering about alternatives.

i know some people use beans or my mum once tried making chickens and filling them with rice, but the rats had a little picnic and she was left with just the material.

so what other types of filling do you guys use or suggest?

and just so it aint all text and questions step this way for monster goodness )

I placed an order with an online art supply store, and my order went well, it came quickly, everything was as described.

But they also sent me 400 crayons.

50 of each of eight colors.

I now have 400 crayons and no idea what to do with them.

Any cool crayon crafts?

Spring is coming, so I spent some time configuring my favorite winter scarf into what just may be my favorite top ever

This scarf is huge, so I can fold it in half, then down again, so there is an extra thick/support boob area, a neat point at the bottom, then loops around behind my back and ties under the bust to keep it all surprisingly steady. The little pin is just for fun, no structural use.

So I'm downsizing from a king sized mattress to a queen size (but it's a good thing). I know that queen sheets will be cheaper than king sheets, but I kind of like some of my sheets.

Does anyone know how to modify the king size to fit a queen? Is it just as simple as cutting open one side and trimming it, then sewing them shorter?

I hope you've all had a wonderful Easter! :)

I started making these a few years ago for a charity fundraiser. Now with spring here (although it still feels like winter), I've decided to make a few more colorful, floral hair barrettes for my collection being that I was down to my last one (the white one I wore today). These are easy to make and more fun to wear!

Does anyone know of a site where you get together with a "penpal" and send crafts you've made to each other?

I had posted awhile back about the afghan I was going to make for my boyfriend's fraternity. I have decided to knit it and do intarsia. I know there is a website that creates the graph paper for you. I have missed placed the link along time ago, and I was wondering if anyone has it, I would greatly appriecate it!!

Thanks!
