my partner wanted a scarf so he went off and got the yarn he wanted and i made it for him.

more pics  )

it's Paton's Inca, a chunky yarn.
just 16 stitches wide .
a row of treble, a row of double, (If your american, thats a row of double, and a row of single)
change colour , repeat til long as you like

He wanted it long enough to double and wear. as hes no shorty, the scarf is around 210 cm long (about 82 ") and then the fringe

Hi All!
I will be moving to Edinburgh later this year.
Unfortunately, I failed to find any craft stores and shops selling sewing supplies my last trip there.
So if any of you know of such a place, do let me know!

Thank You!

This isn't MY art, but I thought it was just too cool not to share!

In my hometown, Salt Lake City, there is a building downtown that is scheduled to be demolished. But, for some reason, the owner decided to let 100 local artists have their way with it, then display it for 11 days, before they tear it down and build condos. Opening night is tonight, and I'm totally going, and I'm extremely excited!

There is more information and lots of cool pictures (click on the "archives" on the right) here:

What do you all call yourself on your business cards?

I'm deisgning mine right now and I could just say "Crafter" but that word only seems to have respect within the crafting community. Outsiders seem to think of tiolet paper cozies and off colored afgans or popsicle stick houses.

I could do the whole "C.E.O." route, but that doesn't explain what I'm about.

Suggestions?

BTW - I'm a general crafter. I design books, jewelry, make soap, everything down to oddly popular ducttape tampon cases. If that helps at all.

hey all, i need a little help/inspiration. my bacholorette party is coming up in two weeks and i was wondering if anyone had any fun, creative ideas on favors i can make for the attendees? there's going to be 8 of us. we plan on going out to eat and then afterwards, going out to a bar or something to drink. i kinda wanted to make something that we could all wear when we go out. like for example, i've seen some of those shot glasses that are attached to a necklace so you can wear them around your neck. i was thinking of picking up some of those, but when i went back to the party store, they didn't have any more. is there a way i can recreate these myself? or i was thinking candy shot glasses. i think there's a tutorial of some sort on craftster. hmmm...any other ideas? anything will help! thanks :)

Here the mini duffle bag/purse I made today. Still have to sew in the lining. I love that it's bright and colourful, and that the straps criss-cross.

There's a wallet that matches as well.

Sorry the pics arn't under a cut...I'll fix it next time if need be.

I was on a sock creature binge for a while a few months back. I made this guy while at work for my co-worker/homie.

His name is Schnurrbart Von Scheiße.
I used a pair of socks she supplied, vintage buttons, and scraps from other sock creatures.
