Jul. 12th, 2007 03:53 amHi guys... I gots a HP/Dobby related question.. I'm crocheting a Dobby from HP. I ran out of my green! (NOOOOOO!) How odd would it be if the ol' dobster had brown legs, one pink sock, and one blue sock?
I have yet to make his pillowcase. and his socks... and his legs....
4am... can;t sleep. gah. looks like I'll be finishing this soonish enough.

2008 diary
Jul. 12th, 2007 09:35 amI know it has been posted about before, but I just want to throw it out there again!
http://www.fantazya.ca/diary2008.html
This is a diary being made from a collaboration of artists, one person designing each page. The deadline is fast approaching (the 15th), and there are still pages that have not been claimed by anyone. So if you're interested, get to work! P.S.--It's free advertising if you have a shop/website/store/etc. that you want to promote. :)

cute summery necklaces!
Jul. 12th, 2007 11:45 amI've been watching this community for a while, but this is my first time posting.
My aunt described a necklace and earring set she'd seen to me, and I tried to recreate it for her. I had two attempts, and I think the second one is 100% better than the first--what do you think?

Jul. 12th, 2007 11:59 amAlright. Desperate.

http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2006/02/how_to_make_a_domokun_ipod_cas.html

NO ONE in town carries the stuff ...
and the thing is, i only need a small little square (dude, this project is SO CHEAP because i got most of the other fabric as free samples)
so help anyone?
on where to get some? (but i dont want to buy a whole bunch since i only need like a 2 inch square)
or could i buy some from someone?
or pay shipping?
or something?
I really want to finish this for my friend... its driving me crazy trying to keep it a secret!
thank you in advance!

Fabric Book Cover
Jul. 12th, 2007 11:59 amI finally completed my Harry Potter/Deathly Hallows care packages. I made fabric book covers for the new book.
I found the most incredibly luxurious moleskin in a deep, dark red (much deeper than the photos show), I'm so in love with this fabric. It's thick and soft and fabulous. The shimmery gold completes the Gryffindor color scheme. I wish I would have ordered patches to add to them, but alas, I didn't, but hopefully these can be used for more than just the HP books.

Light blue glitter vinyl?!?
Jul. 12th, 2007 04:36 pmI just got 3 new colors in the glitter vinyl family. I bought purple, light blue and lime green. I bought the purple from fabric.com and they were fantastic! They rolled not folded my vinyl and it came super quick and shipping was under 5 bucks.
The light blue and lime green came from syfabrics.com and I will NEVER order from them again. They crammed the vinyl into a small box, putting creases in it which from loads of vinyl experience takes forever to come out and I paid double the shipping and 5 dollars more a yard. When I emailed them about it I got the following response.
"HI Stacy,
we apologize for any inconvenience. The creases do eventually come out.
syfabrics"
Instead of emailing them again I'm just going to go elsewhere for my sparkle vinyl. So the break down as follows.
Fabric.com:
14.95 a yard plus 4.95 for shipping. (shipped in a long fabric bolt box with no creases)
Syfabrics.com:
19.95 a yard and 9.95 for shipping. (shipped in a tiny box were there are tons of deep creases which will force me to work around them loosing out on a lot of fabric. Crappy customer service.)
Here is my first creation with some of the light blue sparkle vinyl. I'm just cutting around the creases and not using that part of the fabric. I'm also putting in an order at another place to get more colors.

( 3 more pictures this way. )

The Other Boot
Jul. 12th, 2007 05:10 pmThanks to all who offered suggestions to improve the boot handbag. I played around with the other one of the pair and this is the newest version.
Every one I make is different as I use gently loved boots.

Who's feeling creative?
Jul. 12th, 2007 05:58 pmSo I've got a weird one and I'm here to sap your creative juices.
Ive got a box of plastic overhead sheets. (About 50, 8.5"x11".)
I have no idea what to do with them but I want to make stuff.
The only hangup is that they won't hold wet media (like acrylic paint). I assume they'd take sharpie, but keep in mind it wouldn't keep it opaque.
What do you think I could do with them?
Ready? GO.

Decorating Bottle Caps
Jul. 12th, 2007 09:04 pmOkay, I have this idea but I need some help in executing it.
I got some metal bottle caps and painted one with acrylic paint. I have some words that I typed on the computer using a cool font and I want to put it on the bottle cap. I thought about rub on transfer paper but: 1) It looks expensive and 2) I can't seem to find many places that sell it, especially not in any of the stores near me.
Any ideas on how to transfer the text to the bottle cap?
