Matrix opals wrapped in sterling:

(They're all pretty small. The largest ones are barely 2cm from eye-to-tip. But they're so pretty.)

I just finished this patchwork backback and i'm really liking it. I had an old backpack that i wasn't going to use anymore, so i sewed patches over it. The fabrics i used were a blue silk sari fabric, black and white floral fabric, purple velvet, black cotton, and a black and white polka dot fabric. And then i sewed the little bow at the side. It was a lot of work, i counted approx. 70 handsewn patches. :0. This was my first bag.

Despite being a member of craftgrrl for like a year, I've never actually posted before cos I always forget to take photos of my craft. I started two necklaces last night, in a completely different styles, but only one got finished because I decided I needed to buy a few specific beads before I could finish the other one. So here's the one I completed. It's very simple, but I like it.

have any of you had experience with silkscreening.. or specifically silkscreening on metal (anodized aluminum)? Is there any kind of ink/process that works better than others?

any and all input welcome! I know it's kind of a longshot, but figured I'd ask :)

I know there are tutes in memories about silkscreening.. but nothing specific to aluminum.

Hi,

I have done a few projects using armor etch on some glasses and have had pretty good turn outs. Recently did a glass and the cream seeped through the contact paper i used to make my stencil. What is the best type of adhesive paper to use for stencils. And where can I find whatever it is.

Thanks for you help!

( I am doing toasting glasses for a wedding next weekend and need ideas cuz my first one got messed up.)

I love making things with fabric. I've got a huge stockpile of vintage and modern fabrics to use up and I'm fed up of making the same things over and over again. I tend to make lined zippered pouches, cushion covers and totes, mostly taking inspiration from Craftster.org. I've made the odd quilt too.

Can anyone recommend a book that contains patterns for simple things you can make out of fabrics? I have loads of knitting books but need some that deal with sewing. Accesories/bags/furnishings are preferred to clothes patterns, although I'm open to any good recommendations.

Thanks guys!

P.S. Please do feel free to post links to online patterns you like, but I'd especially like book recommendations.

I am a long time lurker and this is my first post. I have been making jewelery for a very long time, but I am currently not working full time, thus giving me plenty of time to create.

So, for my first post, I will show you one of the cluster bracelets I cannot stop making )

Hello crafty people

So I have a question: Does anyone know what knot/how to knot leather cord? I'm talking about the kind that used two knots that you could slide back and forth to adjust the length of the jewelry. ANY info would be fabulousss. Thanks in advance!
