Odd Halloween prop??
Sep. 22nd, 2007 02:53 pmHey guys, this might sound kinda weird lol...
For Halloween, my bf and I plan to be Jack the Ripper and a dead hooker (as he is fond of calling me lol) and we're looking for ideas on how to make a realistic looking uterus. I as thinking of having him carry around a piece of tripe (cows stomach) soaked in blood, but that's kinda a last resort thing. Maybe rubber? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I agree with mastrixie's comment. I'm not trying to add drama or be rude...I'm just trying to particpate in the discussion. I really don't think the OP was trying to steal their patterns....the pictures just helped to show what she was looking for.
Really, if not asking for permission is against the community rules and you want to enforce this point, then every single "Know where I can get a pattern for this?" post is against the rules. I always see people post pictues of dresses or purses that someone else made OR that are from copyrighted pictures and they never have a problem here. Since it's a grey issue, I can understand if you really find this post against the rules, but then I'd just ask that you make every member follow the same one.
Practice what you fucking preach people.
dont single me out. if your going to fucking whine, be more consistent.

Quilting question!
Sep. 22nd, 2007 09:09 pmI'm in the process of putting the binding around a Pittsburgh Pirates blanket that I'm making for my boyfriend. It's the second blanket I've made, and for some reason was much more time consuming and difficult. With the blanket I made before, a crib sized blanket for a new cousin, I never did any official "quilting" with it, there was just the front, batting, and back, with stitching only around the edges. I washed it when I was all finished, and everything turned out great.
The blanket this time is larger, about a full sized comforter. The batting I used was Quilter's 80/20, and it says that the recommended quilting distance is 2"-4". I hadn't planned on doing any quilting with this blanket as it doesn't really go with the style of it, but I'm wondering what will happen when the blanket is washed? I guess if I need to, I can do some ties in the blanket, but I'm hoping I really don't have to do that, especially 2-4 inches apart.
So I guess my question is, what's going to happen if I don't tie anything? And if I do need to tie, does it really need to be that close together?
Sorry for being so clueless, I'm still learning!

Sep. 22nd, 2007 09:59 pmAnyone know of a website where I could find a men's hoodie or zippered hoodie pattern? I'd be okay with buying one online- in fact I'd prefer it over going to the store.
I've checked Butterick's sewing site, but it's all I can think of.
If the pattern were in XXLT, that would be very helpful as I've only sewn off of a pattern a couple times and expanding a pattern might give me trouble.
I'd like to get started right away as I've got a job & school and need this done by Dec 4th!
Thank you all.

Amigurumi question
Sep. 22nd, 2007 10:58 pmFor those of you who have done the bird/cockatiel pattern in the Amigurumi books (volume 3 I think?), what did you use to make the rosy cheeks and crest? Did you just use a very lightweight yarn/thread, or something else? I tried using embroidery floss once, but it didn't work so good, so I'm looking for ideas.
Thanks!
Thanks!
