Based on this tutorial on how to make a chalk bag I've made my own for my climbing chalk.

I started out with a tank top that was too short and a sweater that I felted in the wash.

Hi. I've made a post about [livejournal.com profile] addmyartjournal in this community already, but that was when I had first created it, and my ideas about what to do with it have changed a bit since then.

Initially I was counting on people to make posts about their art journals themselves, but since we only had/have 25 members, the community was pretty empty.

Since then, I have taken it on myself to seek out artjournals myself and make posts about them. I post an artjournal every 2-4 days, (pretty much whenever I remember to, tee hee).

So, basically, I am providing a service for all you lovely people who would like to find art journals on livejournal. Of course it isn't a completely selfless act as it is something I enjoy doing and I like the idea of building up a database of artjournals. :)

It is still fine if people post their own artjournals, of course!

And if you'd like your artjournal posted but you're too shy to do it yourself, leave a link to your journal here and I will do it myself (comments are screened). You may leave a comment about other peoples' artjournals too if you'd like. I always make sure I comment on someone's journal if I make a post about it in [livejournal.com profile] addmyartjournal, so it's not like it's sneaky or anything. :)

I guess this is where I say: "join [livejournal.com profile] addmyartjournal or perish!" ;)

I had been tempted to try out making a book for a while now, and I actually made two of them last week - and was just too busy lazy to upload them til now.

I couldn't get any really good shots of the first one - or at least none that really got the proper color of the cover. D:

The second one though, I went all out on. I aged the pages and everything. But I didn't have tea to stain them with, so I made a concoction of brown and yellow paint, diluted in water. It actually left an almost copper-y residue on the paper, although it left a more poo-y looking color on my hands. D:

I've got a box of pictures of my childhood and my dad that I inherited when he died.  I'm not a scrapbooker so I really don't know what else to do with these.  My mom recently lost all her pictures in fire and my sister recently bought her first house.  So I want to do something special for both of them with the pictures for a Christmas present.

I looked through the memories section but none of the ideas seemed fitting since most of the pictures are hard to look at because of our dad's death.

Any ideas?  I'm willing to do simple scrapbooks but I'd like to do something unique.

Query!

Perhaps someone here will know... quite a while back (like maybe a year or more ago) someone posted a link to a woman's website who decorated small animal skeletons. To be honest, I can't even be sure it was on craftgrrl that i saw the link. the website had a gallery of her art, mostly cat and bird skeletons if i remember correctly, that she decorated with crystals and feathers and such, and they were often arranged in fantastical scenes, like a cat skeleton hitched to a small buggy with a bird driving it. i think the skulls may have had taxidermy eyes in them too.
no amount of googling on my end has turned this site up (or anything remotely similar).
i'd be most grateful if anyone had a lead for me on this!

We have 3 weeks till Halloween!!! I know there have been a few previous posts about costumes and stuff, but I wanted to start a big old general thread of brainstorms, ideas, and pictures... What thoughts, ideas, photos, etc. have been floating around in your minds for costumes for this year??

This one is me as a robo-girl a couple years ago.. it was my favorite costume so far.. silver paint, blonde wig, thrift shop dress, wire, and silver bubblewrap for armbands..

I'm hoping I can top this one this year..

It was great walking into a party looking like an entirely different species :)

I just bought a bunch of ring bases off Ebay and am super excited to start creating some fabulous rings! However, I'm unsure of what to use in order to make sure whatever I put on them stays on. I tried making one with tacky glue and the button I glued on came off almost immediately; my roommates melted off when she was making tea. =( What would you girls recommend? Resin? or Superglue? or Hot glue? Something else?

I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

I thought you Craftgrrls would appreciate this. This is my box of beads/buttons/embroidered patches/ribbons. I choose not to seperate them from eachother because i like to randomly select one for various craft-related projects. :)
