stars and hearts

Recently I've been: spending too much money in John Lewis haberdashery department; making my hands ache from sewing; getting far too excited about our first Christmas tree.

the haberdashery department is my friend )

Two pink haired girls took a shot of rum and went to WalMart. This is what came of it. Check the cut for process photos.

Oh my god, that was a 50 cent squirt gun )

Finally finished!

Just wanted to post what I think is the first weaving project that I can't find any mistakes on (doesn't mean they aren't there, just means I can't see them...)

Last Notes:
Given that this was Lion Brand Suede, I had the option of either tying each strand of the fringe or fray checking... I fray checked... using Nail Growth nail polish. I had it on hand and this type has protein and dries clear with a matte finish. That's 160 nails x 2 strands per nail X 2 ends per strand x 2 sides = 960 drops of nail polish... Whew!

With fringe this was about a 40 hour blanket.

I can't imagine knitting a blanket that size in that amount of time... At least, not yet...

eh Voila )

I am literally going to cry when I mail this out for Christmas...

Does anyone know where I can find some thick-to-thin, similarily colored yarn like the one found here? (taken from this post ) ...

Apparently it was discontinued, but after seeing it I REALLY want some :/ ebay, etsy, and yarn.com have all failed me so far... or maybe I've failed them, I'm not sure.

All help is greatly appreciated
