Sweet Tart!
Feb. 19th, 2008 09:38 am
Here's a 2-1/4" pocket mirror I just designed and made last night. I had this idea for Valentine's Day, but I was too busy to get it done for then. I designed this based on a rubber stamp that I hand carved. So I stamped it, then "embellished". The idea was for it to look some what like a tattoo.
Rhinestone adhesive q
Feb. 19th, 2008 11:12 amI went through the memories, saw the Michael's glue chart, the other glue chart, and the This to That website...but I'm still stuck (no pun intended). I applied a rhinestone iron-on to a 100% cotton t-shirt. Two of the rhinestones didn't adhere properly so I want to glue them down. The list of glues is daunting! Aleene's alone has four or five different products for this situation.
What products have given you the best results? The Michael's chart suggested Aleene's Jewel It, but in checking out the Aleene's products I saw they have something called Fabric Fusion. It might be a new product. Has anyone used it?

My husband is an avid toy collector... and one can only have so many toys running around without a way to display them that doesn't make my house look like a toy box or him look like a coooomplete nerd.
So here's what I came up with:
( I used an old drawer out of a work bench, painted it black, used fun paper and made backgrounds for each hole, and then added toys! Here's the result! )

Feb. 19th, 2008 04:20 pmGive me your feedback on these earrings I made. Should I change them, I can't decide where I stand today. Do you think the lightning bolts would look better spaced closer together? Thanks for help!

Feb. 19th, 2008 11:32 pm Hello all! My name is Amanda, I'm twenty, and I've been lurking this community for quite some time. I'm a "craftgrrl" myself, so I figured it was about time to join. I work at Joann (Fabrics and Crafts, for those of you very, very few craftsters who don't know what we are). I've worked there for almost 2 years. I've learned a my fair share of interesting tips and tricks here and there so I'll be glad to help anyone who's in need! My big craft fields are sewing and home decor. I paint here and there. Pretty much anything. I'm really excited to start taking pictures of some of the things I've done and let you guys see. You are all SOOO talented! But, I just wanted to get the introduction out of the way. Adios! Happy crafting!
Polaroid Project
Feb. 19th, 2008 11:43 pmMy boyfriend is doing a project involving as many people as possible and their polaroids:
I recently heard that polaroid is going to stop production of all polaroid film shortly. I saw alot of people start protests and petitions but i've decided to go a different route. I am starting a website and I am asking anyone and everyone with a polaroid camera to go buy a box of film. Take those 10 pictures as if they were the last 10 polaroid photos left on the planet and do your very best to visually explain your entire life in those 10 images. feel free to write on the small space at the bottom of them. I ask you to then send them to me in any way you can, either scan them and email them to me or take pictures of them and send them to me or even ship them to me and I will scan them and ship them back at my own cost. Add a little synopsis of each picture and what it means to you, even a little blurb about yourself so that I can add a profile to each and every person. I don't know if it will change polaroids mind but hopefully it will give us all a chance to look deeper into our lives and our love of polaroid. The email address you should send the images to is Polaroid10@live.com
If you want to ship me your pictures email me and I will respond with my address. If you do so I guarantee you will get your pictures back in the same exact condition that I recieved them in. Thank you so much, I can't wait to hear from all of you.
Edit: I know someone else will probably get the rights to make the film. But this isn't so much as an attempt to change Polaroid's mind, as much as to see how many different people can describe their lives in ten photos.

Wire & star necklace
Feb. 19th, 2008 11:55 pmHere's a necklace I started a couple of weeks ago, then I ran out of wire and had to wait until the bead store was open to get some more. It was a Sunday when I ran out, and my bead lady doesn't open until Tuesday. I had to wait 2 whole days! haha. so yeah, now it's done and here it is -
