Sorry that this is pretty off-topic, but I figured that this would be the best place to inquire about my issue. I'll delete this if everyone thinks it's too OT. I have this plastic glasses case. It's cheap but cute. I know the pictures on the front will start to rub/wear off pretty quickly if I don't cover it with anything. Any suggestions? Would polyurethane spray do the trick?

Hello again, everyone...

I am working on making a craft network in my area, and I was wondering, regardless of the medium you work in, what are some of your favorite web sites to find information about crafting and art?

Do you have a website that you own that you would like featured? How about a blog or zine(online or hard copy)?

Let me know.

Thanks.

Ok, so here's a stupid question for all you sewers:

I finally made myself a dress form...uhm, now what? I mean, can someone direct me towards some tutorials on how to pin things onto a dress form (for some really dumb reason, I'm really confused by this?), make patterns on a dress form, drape, etc. And I realise this is probably a dumb question...I guess it happens, right?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

So I had all these makeup brushes with no home, and this fabric with a really spiffy graphic of perfume bottles......and had been meaning to try out some vinyl over fabric sewing projects.......

Put those together and you get:

This is all for now.

So im wondering who is on here from BC Canada and is going to go to fiber fest this weekend?
http://www.fibrefestinternational.com/newsite/index2.htm

This is the 6th year they have been doing it.
Im hoping to get a replacement part for my spinning wheel (Louet s51) and get some nice yarn to work with.
So anyone else going? I plan to make it out there on Saturday

Okay, so I've been digging online for days, but I cannot find what I am looking for. I need a pattern or a tutorial for how to make a bow tie. BUT, here's the catch: It can't be pre-tied. My brother just wants regular, old fashioned bowties that he can tie himself. And all my days of searching has only turned up patterns for pre-tied clip on ones.

The next logical step was then going to be just finding an old one and tearing it apart to create a pattern from it, BUT we can't find a single one. ANYWHERE. And I don't have the capability to buy offline.

So can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or a free pattern? It would really be a life saver.

I got my Itsy Bitsy Bug Petite Blythe Doll yesterday and this is the first outfit I've made for her: a dress entirely made of real measuring tapes and a petite vintage flowers headband! She'll be the best model for my creations :-)

Ive checked out some soapmaking communities but many are inactive or are just ads.  So, I turn to my craftgrrls!  Does anyone know how to use beer in M&P soap?  My google-fu has failed me; Im only finding CP recipes.  Thanks guys!

My mom wants me to stencil a saying on her wall and I was wondering if I'm doomed to cut out a stencil for the entire thing. I mean, I could cut out just the letters I need, but I'd worry I wouldn't be able to center it properly.

What's the best material to use to make the stencil out of for wall painting purposes? Any time-saving or quality-improving tips?

From my 9 year old. I had posted the blue and silver set a while ago (blue and silver discs on a silver chain with matching earrings). Here is a set she made... we still have to work on finishing and hiding the end wire (you can see it on the top right there) but I think she did quite well!

She LOVES hearing comments online from people she doesn't know... good or bad! She wants to learn.

It's a very pretty green color IRL.
