First off, if this isn't allowed, don't be afraid to delete it!

I was going through some stuff while I was organizing my craft room and I found my big collection of Barbie trading cards, from when I was like 4.

And, I am looking at them now thinking they could make something really fun! I just really have no idea what I could make with them. A purse? A deco box?

I have almost 80 of them, so I have enough to do something fun.

Do you lovely girls have any ideas?

Since we're approaching the time to switch the old wardrobe over to summer stuff, I figured it was about high time to finish up the 'winter' clothing that's been sitting half done in my sewing pile.

According to the tags on the shelf, Fred Meyer has "Loin Wool Yarn" on sale.
Y'know. In case you were wanting to knit a natural blonde scarf.

A pair of earrings with a matching necklace. I used up the last of the glass crystal-like beads (supposed to be 4 left, but I broke 1 :P). Hope this set made good use of them.

I tried to have the necklace beaded all the way, but the end result sort of took away the focus from the pendant which is what I wanted. So I undid all the beading (what a waste of wire) and placed the pendant on a plain chain instead. Just fancied up the extender, if you can call it that.

So, this year, I decided I was going to make my own prom dress. I started probably a month ago, and worked on it whenever I had the sewing feva. I finished it Thursday night, and prom was Saturday. I'm SO happy with how it turned out, and I have to share it with you all! =D

Pictures! )

ignore the ridiculous time stamps. i got a new camera the morning of prom, and didn't realize i had it in the wrong mode. D'OH!

it endured a looong night of being stepped on, hiked up, and pulled on, with no damage at all. And no one believed me when I told them I had made it! haha

(x-posted to a few other places.)

I LOVE circular needles but have only made flat projects on them. I want to make a hat that calls for 16" circulars and I only have 24" and larger. Can I still make the hat on the longer needles or will the stitches be too tight on the cord?

Here are two paintings I did.

First one is of a green woman, I had intended to make her more leafy and more like my greenmen but the more I worked on her the more I decided that I kind of liked the nude green lady with more of her showing.

Hey all! I work as a young adult service technician at a small public library and have been redecorating the teen area recently. In my quest for ideas, I stumbled upon the site http://www.blockposters.com and decided to give it a try. Behind the cut is my result... it's kind of a crappy picture of what turned out -- sorry about that :/. The result is a poster that's over 4 feet long, 2 rows of 5 sheets of standard sized paper each -- I'm putting it above my magazine area. Anyway, it's slightly less crafty than most of what's posted here, but I thought it was way cool and Blockposter's gallery has some REALLY neat ideas.

Hello, everyone :).
I joined this community just a few days ago, and I am amazed by the variety and quality of your creations.
I only picked up my first needle about a month ago, but I am quickly getting addicted to sewing, and I'm definitely going to wander into other crafting fields as soon as the university schedule gives me a little break :)!

I'd like to share a couple of simple things I made myself, just to get hold of how the sewing machine works.. :)
