Okay ladies-&-possible-stray-gentlemen, I need some help!

I'm moving this weekend, right. One of my roommates lived in the garden of the duplex we're moving into the past two years. The landlords are having people paint her garden apartment so it's nice when they move in [we're swapping places with them, kind of]. She's got these two gorgeous cherry red leather couches, & the painters didn't cover them. There's some overspray from the ceiling on 'em now.

Aside from the problem of my roommate bursting into tears at the travesty, what gets paint out of leather [couches]?!

EDIT: Thanks for all the suggestions! I know she SHOULD make the landlord deal with it, but long story short, I'm not sure if she will. I'll let you girls know what we tried & what happened.

yes. sorry for the text only post. i've been swapping like woah over on craftster and always forget to take pics before i send my crafty-ness out! i'll remember next time.

anywho, so my question. my one year wedding anniversary with the husband is coming up next month (yeeeeeehh!) we're having a party to celebrate. it's not going to be anything fancy schmancy. at all. we're having it at this awesome local pizza joint for pizza and beer! so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas for invitations? like with the party, they don't need to be fancy. i want them to be kindy funky, fun. basically something to kinda symbolize the casualness and funness of the party....if that makes any sense! i'm racking my brain but can't seem to come up with anything. except possible using our wedding colors. (black, red and white) any ideas on the look? or what they should say? i came across this awesome website while yahooing ideas, that had alot of suggestions on how to word the invites, but even the ones in the "causual" catagory seemed way to formal. i can always just go with "you're invited"....or even just buy some invites. but just thought i'd see if you crafty gals had any ideas, suggestions, anything! thanks in advance =)

Hi all! I just found this community. A brief little bit about me. I'm from the midwest (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas/Kansas City). A few months ago I fulfilled a long time dream and moved to Alaska. I do lots of different crafts: scrapbook, card making, crocheting, sewing, cross stitching, etc. Actually I took sewing lessons as a kid (my mom is an incredible seamstress and quilter), but I just got back into it recently. I got a sewing machine for Christmas, set it up after the move, and went to town. I'm also a children's librarian, Sunday School teacher, former VBS teacher, former camp counselor, former afterschool coordinator, etc. All that is by way of saying that I have done nearly every craft aimed at children. As a total side note, I'm also the creator/maintainer (albeit very hand off maintainer) of [livejournal.com profile] cardmakers.

And on to the crafty part of this. A couple of weeks ago I came upon, and was enthralled by, by these directions to crochet a cat hat. I grabbed some scrap yarn and set to crocheting. I've now made a bunch of them for my cat, coworkers' cats, etc. No cat really wears them for any length of time, but they're a great deal of fun.

Thanks for humoring the new girl!

has anyone tried making shrinky dinks with metallic colored sharpies? i'm just wondering how and if they'd turn out.

Here are a few more things that I have made in the recent past. I really need to get my cards and the rest of the stuff I have made photographed.
