Promoting The Art Of The Doll
Jun. 25th, 2008 10:16 amIf anyone is interested there is a petition being signed by Doll Artists all over the world that can be found in my journal.
I deleted my earlier post because someone was harassing me about it.

Does anyone know of a website that shows you how to make curtains? Something that would let you know how much longer and wider to make them so they look right? Thanks!
Booties for adults!
Jun. 25th, 2008 02:34 pmRecently I hit 2000 pageviews on DeviantArt, which is a huge deal for me, so I offered up a kiriban prize for lucky number 2000th. The winner asked for a pair of Zelda-themed slippers. I was very excited! This seemed like such a fantastic project.
It took me a while but they're finally done now. I choose Windwaker Link because I think his style suits embroidery better than Ocarina Link.
Outer and lining is microfleece (nope, never going to stop loving that stuff) and quilted in between is a comfysoft layer of pure wool batting. These slippers are snuggly. The triforce is felt, hand-appliqued. actually, both slippers are 100% hand-sewn, hand-appliqued, hand-embroidered.
The puff paint grip dots came out much, much better with brand new paint and it was both fun and a little creepy to watch them puff up under the hairdryer.

Hopefully these guys fit her and she loves them as much as I loved making them! I might have to make myself a pair sometime...
Metalworking and a little bit more
Jun. 25th, 2008 02:55 pmI started a metalworking class a little over a week ago, and I'm in love! I wish I could go to it three times a week instead of just one. (That's not just because my instructor is a hottie either, though it sure doesn't hurt.) I don't post here very often, so I thought it would be fun to share some results.
( Photos and goodness are behind the cut. )
Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed. I just love this community.

Watermelon Sculpey goodies
Jun. 25th, 2008 03:53 pmFor the summertime, I decided to try caning sculpey into a fun watermelon design.
Being my first attempt, it's not perfect, but I'm happy with the stuff I made, nonetheless.

This is what I made out of the leftovers. An interesting pendant I'm not sure if I love or hate.

Jun. 25th, 2008 04:40 pmI bought this dress a few weeks ago and it is the comfiest dress ever. However, it's a very plain dress and I'd like to change it up a little...
I also saw the previous post and I wanted to know if anyone knew where to find a guide on caning.
Thanks!
( Ideas? )

Emilie Autmn Armband
Jun. 25th, 2008 06:28 pmSpending most of my time with earphones in my ears and my head in the clouds, I fell in love with Emilie Autumn.
So I had a go at making an armband; with hers as inspiration and my own little touches.
Emilie's origional and mine.
I cut up an old velvet shirt I don't fit into anymore, beaded on some shineys, found some discarded lace at an op shop and shredded some calico; glued it on some elastic as viola!
For display purposes its slug onto my desk lamp lol...
