Quick crafts for teenages-early twenties?
Jun. 27th, 2008 02:15 pmHi all, I've been asked to run a lunchtime (one off) craft class for college students in about a month as part of an event. Has anyone got any ideas for a quick hands on craft that would be good to teach (particularly the guys)? I'll bring the badge maker out but I'm keen for some other ideas.....
And so, this isn't text only, here's some of my latest gloves:

I started this last night when
Company logo t shirt quilt.
Jun. 27th, 2008 04:09 pmMy bf works for Mary's pizza, and their shirts have the company logo on the front, and the back says eat drink and be mary, lkind of a play on words cause the woman who started this company was well you guessed it named Mary.
I thought it'd be kind of fun to take all his shirts which are getting kind of ratty for work* Ie logo is faded but still visable or bottom had a huge rip or stain in it, and make it a quilt. Hell if they aren't expensive maybe I might give him the money to order me some brand new ones to do it with.
I saw how to do this on Creative juice and it's very easy you cut out the part of the t shirt you want saving the back too, then sew it together then sew it to a piece of fleece, then turn.
Any one else ever made throw quilts out of their companies t shirts?

Jun. 27th, 2008 05:24 pmWell for the past week I've been without internet. With the absence of entertainment I decided to bide my time making earrings....Lots and LOTS of earrings...Something I've never taken too much of a serious interest in before now. My mother is urging me to sell these to local art shops but I dont know if I'm good enough for that... Though that may be because I've been staring at them all non-stop for the past 3 days.
Anywho- sorry for the mediocre pictures. My camera does what it wants, when it wants. *shrug*
Hope you like them! Im excited to have been so productive lately and just had to share. =3
( Glass beads, silver metal, bright colors and 18 pairs under the cut )

Jun. 27th, 2008 08:26 pmI have a quick question.
I bought a whole bunch of old vinyls from a thrift store. I use the sleeves to make collages and stuff like that, but I'm now left over with a bunch of old records that I can not listen to ect. ect. I know I can make record bowls out of them, but I'm looking for other projects as well. My friend said she heard you can make purses and agendas and that kind of stuff, but I can't find anything on the internet beside the bowl tutorials. I thought that you gals probably had some ideas, or links to tutorials. If you could help, that would be AWSM.

Here's a mail art card I made for my friend Dan. I used through the viewfinder photos I had taken of him and his dog, Patches. I waxed the card, but it's a little hard to tell in the scan. I just mailed it yesterday, and he already got it today! Sometimes my mail art cards take awhile to get to their destination, so I was happy it had a speedy delivery.
Shrink plastic and warping
Jun. 27th, 2008 11:19 pmHi there, not sure if this community is really open to requests but I'm having a little trouble with a craft project I'm working on.
I'm trying to make some designs on shrink plastic, I believe in America the proular trade name is Shrinky dinks?
During the heating process I'm finding that mine tend to curl up and stick to themselves, and even if I pull them out of the oven, press them flat and reheat them, they never quite lay flat again, like they developed a kink.
Does anyone know of a way to keep them fairly horizontal and straight during the heating process?
