I pulled out my precious metal clay and have been having fun.
This pendant started out as raw brass. I washed and sanded it and painted on precious metal clay. I coated it two more times and used my clay tools to carve out lines to give it more detailing.
I then fired the clay with a handheld torch till the silver was completely melded to the brass. I let it cool and sanded and polished it. The coating of clay gives it a .999 silver plate over the brass.

( more metal clay )

Looking for a pattern...
Oct. 15th, 2008 08:06 pmI think it's high time for me to learn how to sew something other than straight lines, so I'm going to attempt something cute and functional.
Does anyone have any fleece beanie patterns they would like to share? I see a ton out there, but I'm not sure if their techniques are differing enough for one to be of higher quality than another.
In particular, I'm looking for something that also includes ears, such as this, for example. I really like that style of ears a lot!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
