My Mom recently cleaned out her closet, so I ended up with a ridiculous amount of clothing. My sole intention for this clothing? Ripping it apart to use as fabric XD.

Chester, here, is but one of many softies I have planned. He's made of entirely recycled materials, even down to his button. The face is hand painted with a bit of embroidery for the mouth. I'm no seamstress by any means, but I love sewing these little dudes. Almost everything I sew is a free handed pattern.

I accidentally forgot to sew a back seam to stuff/close him. I didn't remember until I got around to sewing his right ear, so it's a bit jacked up. I still think he's cute, anyway :3.

Fimo Help

Okay, I need some creative ideas here. I made a brooch out of Fimo Soft. Said brooch is very intricate and has some thin parts, and it is also about five inches long. This is a recipe for disaster, because we all know how brittle Fimo/Sculpey can be when it wants to. And trust me, this bad boy is already super fragile...I cringe at the thought of actually wearing it.

I attempted to reinforce the brooch with plaster and wire on the back (I was desperate), but the plaster didn't adhere well and it looked like crap.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to reinforce this thing? I'm on a strict timeline to have this done and would so, SO appreciate any thoughts!

Here's a progress pic of the brooch when it was pre-fired. Hasn't been sanded yet, etc. (ETA):

Hello Ladies, for my English class we had to write up directions on how to do something and I choose to write how to do Western woodblock printing, and I figure I would share them with you guys/girls.   I didn’t need picture or images for my paper but if there is enough interest I will add pictures.  Enjoy

Anyone know if you can find 8x8 scrabook page protectors (er, the plastic sheets that hold the paper) at Michaels or Hobby Lobby? The websites weren't helpful to me and I am currently limited in my ability to go out as I'm recovering from surgery and unable to drive. I'm guessing you can get them at these places, but I was hoping someone would know for sure so I'm not waddling around on a wild goose chase. :)

If you have a better/cheaper source (most likely online as those are the available craft stores around here), I'm open!

If it matters, this is for a Colorbok 8x8 album that I found at Big Lots.

Thank you!!

(those of you that may remember, this is for my grandparents' memory jar memories. :) )

For christmas to take care of the large amount of people I can't afford personal gifts for, I'll be making coffee-infused vodka. I'll be running the cheapest vodka I can find through a brita filter about 5 times to make it drinkable, and this leaves bottles as the most expensive part of the deal. Does anyone know where to find real cheap glass bottles that look decent? Everything I'm seeing is either really stylish bottles for $10 each, or cheap plastic water bottles that look terrible. I guess I could use old beer bottles with corks in them, but it's rather tacky.

I'm also going to be making homemade soap with the recipes off millersoap.com since I've bought her soaps before and love them, so wish me luck on that.

I can think of many things to put in a Advent calendar for a child but what about a big kid? Like a grownup guy? I cant think of anything inexpensive (under ten dollars) from the size of a matchbox to the size of a of deck of cards (I thought of that one lol).
Any help crafty ones?

A few days ago I made my bunny-obsessed friend this necklace for her birthday.

The photo's a little crooked, but you get the idea.

My hubbie and I are planning a Cuban Winter Solstice/Christmas celebration and are looking for decorations and inspirations.

I have the menu and have been hitting the web for days for ideas but I'n not getting much past the fact that roast pig is crucial along with a fair amount of asst. alcohols. It sounds good but doesn't add much to the decor.

By any chance, would anyone know where I could either get some clip art of postcard/notecard sources of old retro "come to Cuba" ads?

For that matter, any inexpensive decorating ideas we can use?

It's been a long while since I posted anything here, so here. Have a post.(: A bracelet, a scarf, a hat, and a button.

And I still can't help but feel I'm forgetting something. )

The source of this pattern has escaped my memory, but just know that the pattern is not mine!

I did tweak it a little, though.

Hope this cut works!

Onward to Owls! )
