I'm not going to x-post all my paper snowflakes here, since I'm going to try to cut one every day or every other day and don't want to spam, but I thought I'd share this one since it's in season. (If you'd like to check out the other snowflakes, see my LJ.)

I know it's after Christmas, but I have a twelve-day margin, right?

I couldn't get a decent coverage cause it was so sticky and it was thin in some places. I did the best I could for a top coat and will try another coat tomorrow, but this might of been the wrong paint to choose for this project, or could it be not applying properly cause I am using pine wood?

I have used metalics on wood items before with perfect results, so why the shitty results on THIS project?

I don't have the same coverage problem with regular paints.

And my second question, is what is the largest craft paint brush I can get? I bought some big ones at OSH, but they suck as a craft brush for some reason. They do not do a good job at all of being smooth or even and they split strait  down the middle so there's a huge cap in the middle of the bristles.

hi, all!

I've been lurking around this community for a while, but I've never actually posted. You ladies (and sometimes gents) are really great crafters and I'm so pleased and impressed with how helpful and nice everyone is. :)

I wish I'd thought of it before I gave them away and taken pictures, but I made 3 gift baskets for family this Christmas.

2 Bourbon Carmel Candied Apples
2 Cherry Almond Caramel Candied Apples
8 Chocolate-Dipped Spoons (for stirring coffee)
8 Vanilla-Dipped Spoons (again, for stirring coffee, etc)
1 mug
2 bags of cute candies
1/2 bag of Spanish moss

I was pinching pennies, so here's how it worked:
Some Cheap Basket-Making Tips/Ideas )

I also hoping for some suggestions/ideas. I want to give my friend something mermaid-related. Something crafty that I can make with mermaids. I'm really open to pretty much any ideas...

(EXCEPT PAINTING/DRAWING A MERMAID! I DO NOT HAVE THAT SKILL!)

Maybe a collage or I dunno... I'm feeling very stuck on this issue. Hmph. Help, please!

Any ideas on a good gag birthday gift I could make for a woman turning 40?

Echino finally put out a new line! I am obsessed with this fabric. Here is a new purse I made from one of the new fabrics.

1. If I want to spin 120 yards if worsted weight yarn - how much roving do I need? I find a lot of listings on etsy for 4 oz of roving. How much does that yield?

2. I recently knitted a scarf out of beautiful handspun yarn - probably about bulky weight. The "pattern" I made up went:
Row 1: K4, K6, K4
Row 2: K4, P6, K4

I'm having a horribly time blocking this without it rolling. Whats your best advice? I don't really get how to block a scarf anyway.

x-posted - sorry for the lj spamming with my yarn issues!
