Alright, Crafty Ones. I need a wee bit of advice!

A friend of mine is going to be having a baby in about seven-or-so months. She doesn't yet know what the sex of the baby is, but she's been bugging me to crochet her a baby blanket. My issue is that I don't know what colors to make it! So, I need a wee bit of help deciding on three colors for a blanket and matching hat.

Any thoughts?

And so this isn't text only, have a look at a digital scrapbook page I made for a friend! :D

I have been cutting my shrinky dinks with scissors, but it is very very difficult when I'm trying to cut intricate designs even if they're big and sometimes the plastic will rip. Is there a soopar speshul technique to this? Would a sharp stanley knife work better?

So, how are common purse frames meant to be attached to the purse? Like this one --> http://www.u-handbag.com/images/Curved%20silver.jpg (not the sew-on -frames with holes) I've once tried to glue the fabric to the frame, but that obviously didn't work out and I really don't think that they're meant to be glued.
I searched through memories, but didn't find any answers.

Cute pony-printed fabric made it happen :>
Gathering made it full and fluffy, faux leather keeps the shape. The bag is entirely self-made, including patterns. Lining is dark purple silk, which doesn't show in pics. Measurements are about 45x30x10 cm.
I usually use more lace and bows, but this fabric needed attention ^^

My two gifting challenges this year was my co-teacher and my brother.  The co-teacher and I agreed on a 5 dollar limit and just as I was thinking, "I'll just get her a Caribou Coffee gift card!" she said, "You're so crafty, I can't wait to see what you do with five dollars!"

Well, crap. )

I made the umbilical cord hat from Stitch and Bitch. It knits up superfast and easy...

I've just made this summer hat for myself.
I love it and the pattern.
Very easy to do.
