Inspired by the "wooden" pincushion in Doodle-Stitching, I made this cupcake. The pin-sprinkles make it.

So, Christmas over with (although I still have one or two presents sitting unfinished on my sewing table, but it's okay, because I'm not going to have a chance to see the people they are for until end of January), I'm beginning to start planning my next big season of crafting.

Being a good little third generation Ukrainian American, I'm going to be making pysanki (usually spelled pysanky... we just always spelled it with an "i." No idea why...) this year for easter. My mom taught me when I was in 2nd grade, and I ended up fairly good for a youngster. Unfortunately, we haven't really had the time since to make them, and the little indie craft store where we used to get our supplies has since closed down.

I know I've seen at least one or two craftgrrls on here who are pysanki makers, and I'm just wondering, where's a good place to grab supplies? I've been to every craft store within probably 100 miles of my home in OBF, PA, and nobody sells the stuff.

Specifically, I'm looking for dyes. Everything else, we still have enough of left from when we used to make them to last us for a while yet. But the dyes.... Ours went bad years ago. What dyes do you guys use? I know that some are better than others, and some get better results. And, is there somewhere online that has a consistently good product that I could order from?

I'd prefer somewhere online, but also if you know of anyplace in NYC that has great supplies, that would be great too. I'd prefer not to have to drive in to get them, but if there really is no place online, if I have to, I will.

Thanks in advance for any help! =D

Hi there! I really want to make my animals some collars like the above using webbing and plastic buckles etc, my question is, I have a normal sewing machine, can it handles stitching though the webbing? It will have to sew through double webbing, can it handle it, is there a special needkle that I need for this type of work?

Thanks:)

Compared to the other Christmas presents on here, four owls in gift baskets is pretty small, but what can you do...they are pretty cute!

So, here's what I made. )

Help!

I crocheted a beanie about two years ago and I have no idea what pattern I used. I have spent too many hours trying to figure out just the stitch I used for it. So I was hoping someone might glance at it and know exactly what stitch it is.

I have already ruled out, single, double, and half double.

Thanks a bunch!
