Handmade Coraline Doll

My friend Mike and I have been getting together to do some tag team crafting to make this Coraline doll (inspired by the recent stop motion movie) for a friend's birthday. More photos and details at my blog and also over at Mike's blog!

I am looking to make a replacement shade for one of my favorite lamps. Unfortunately, the original shade was destroyed when I moved. Does anyone know of a tutorial to make a shade that will fit over this kind of base. The lamp looks similar to this lamp from target:

Thanks in advance

Not sure I LOVE this one as I think there is something missing. Too plain? Might change out the top beads to smaller one not sure yet.

...mushroom house. It's my first (finished) venture into needle-felting, so keep that in mind. I decided to start learning how with acrylic yarn, since it's very cheap and I have lots of it on hand already. I love it so far!

I painted a flower pot, and now I need some sort of glaze or top coat, but everything stinks. A lot. Do you guys have any suggestions for an odor free,or at least odor light, glaze/shine/whatever?

Anyone know how to do this?

It looks kinda like  a braid? Anyone know the name of the technique used to make it? I am not selling anything, I just like the way it looks and would use it for personal use.

I apologize for this being text-only but I have a question regarding corsets and boning.  I am hoping someone here can help me out.  I own an underbust corset that I purchased at an anime convention.  I thought it had plastic boning, but found out after I got home this evening that it actually has a light metal boning and is from Thailand.  Before I got home, I purchased another corset, this time off of eBay.  It is from Hong Kong and the auction listing states that it has plastic boning.  Has anyone ever replaced boning in a manufactured corset before?  Is it worth it to even attempt?  Any input would be wonderful, and I thank you all in advance!
