I've been trying to learn to crochet for the past month or so... Its kind of difficult when no one is around to teach me, so I've been trying to look up tutorials and things like that online.

So if these aren't the greatest, that's why. LOL

I also made a quilt a couple months ago, I just never get around to taking pictures. But I finally found the time.

Here's yesterday's journal page. I wasn't in much of a productive mood yesterday. So I thought I might as well glue some shit down and slap on some paint. It's always helpful for me to keep the hands moving. I decided to move my scanner out into my art house, which is where I'm at now, and I think I like it out here. Maybe I can slowly get more things out of what used to be my living room and into my art house. We'll see. My art house is already pretty full. Anyway, it's easier to scan my pages as I go than to scan a bunch at once like I did the other day. So here's another one for you. The weather is back to being cold and gloomy here in Lawrence, KS. Which is matching how I've been feeling the past few days. But I'm off to get a massage! So hopefully that will give me a jump start and back on track with my working on my book. Ruby hasn't been feeling well, which is why she looks down in the photo.

Hi everyone- I need some inspiration! Can you show me a picture of your crafting area and supplies, and however they are arranged? (or unarranged, if you're like me) I have such wide interests in the things I want to craft that it results in my having all sorts of media to work with, and so it's hard to arrange. I'd love to see what you do! :)

I'm doing a collage project for a band. They gave me a guitar that they smashed and said "here, use this." It's basically in two main pieces, the body and the neck. I know what I'm doing for the collage, but what would be the best way to keep the guitar on there?
I was thinking of drilling through it onto the wood background but I don't know if that would work.

Any suggestions?

I'm feeling uninspired.

But this weekend, I am going to MAKE myself make purses. Start my "Turning 20" quilt made by using 20 fat quarters. Learn how to sew in zippers. Make these cool neck warmers, and a couple of scarfs, finish those damned owls... Ooooh and make an etsy shop. Ooooh and organize and re-invent my kitchen turned craft room.

I guess i'm not that uninspired. :)

And on that note...

Any tips with sewing zippers in?

Sorry for the lack of photo, I'm apparently sick with the plague and haven't had the energy to make anything today.
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with using temporary tattoos on polymer clay? I have some girly/skulls tattoos, and would like to work on a project involving them. I'm really not sure of what they're composed of, and I'm wondering if I should bake the piece before I put the tattoo on it, or if the tattoos are safe to put through the curing process?

ETA: I don't know how many of you are fans of Craft magazine, but I am kind of disappointed that they are switching over to digital only issues. I know that it's way more economically feasible, and cuts down on resources use, but my attention tends to wander when I'm reading online 'zines. Thoughts?

I am just starting to make felt plushies and do better with patterns than with making them up on my own. I found these adorable plush bunnies and decided to make one for my daughter for her Easter basket (not in cashmere, however!) I would love to do something similar for my son, but would like to make a chick for him. Has anyone seen a cute chick out of felt? I have only located one and didn't care for it. Any help at all? I promise I will post lots of pics of the crafting I have been doing soon!

Thanks!

In short, I've discovered Mod Podge and all the slightly-goopy fun you can have with it.

Before, a pair of $13.00 heels:

1.1. Before Mod Podge and Comics

After, a pair of kickass Black Canary heels [lots of images]. )

Ta-da!

And I even managed to get homework done in the last few days as well!
