THIS IS NOT A SELLING LINK!!!!   I just found this ad and thought I would share because it's hilarious and I think really captures the issue well.  This link is NOT for selling but to bring attention to a problem piece of legislation.

ok, sorry this is going to be text only but i'll make it brief.

March 20th is me and my bf's 2 year anniversary and i wanna make him something. (bf is in icon) question is, any suggestions? you guys can suggest anything. [maybe you guys can tell/show me what you made for your bf/hubby as gifts in the past....]

here's a lil bit about him:
+ computer nerd (he builds computers)
+ loves ska music
+ will be 21 in May
+ biggg Washington Redskins fan
+ xbox 360 dork
+ loves going to hardcore shows
+ likes chillin with friends and having a beer [underage, i know.]

doesn't like:
- cards (like greeting cards. he throws them out after a few days.)
- overly extravagant stuff
- useless gifts [i.e. cards, figurines, etc.]
- anything to do with scrapbooking [thinks its a waste of pics.]

Thanks in advance!!!!!

ETA: i forgot to mention what skills i possess.
~ sewing
~ knitting [though big projects take forever.]
~ basic cut and glue
~ very lil crochet
~ painting
~ collage
~ multimedia [both computer based and real life media]
~ drawing
~ jewelry making
~ && whatever i already have the supplies for.

i don't wanna limit myself though. i'll try anything as long as i don't need to buy a lot of stuff.

I'm looking to buy my first house, so I've been working on a hope chest of sorts. I'm calling it Operation Domestication.

Here's the starts of it:

I didn't make the apron - I swapped for it. It's a million times better constructed than anything I would have made, so I feel like I made out like bandit. I did two more towels last night after I shot this photo. The transfers are from SublimeStitching.com. These are my first attempts at embroidery.

I guess it's not completely the beginning - I did make some some sweeper covers. I think I posted them here before. Once I actually find THE HOUSE, I'll start in on curtains and rugs and fun stuff like that. I'll try to post it all up here, but if I forget and you're really interested, it'll definitely be on my site - needyl.com

Hi, everyone!

I'm currently looking for dress patterns that have circle skirts or something similar. Basically, I'm looking for a dress with a skirt that flares out when spinning. I've got a few in mind, but I'm looking for opinions. Has anyone here made something like what I'm talking about? What patterns did you use?

I'm not very good at making my own patterns, but I'm fine with altering pre-existing patterns. The top half/bodice/etc doesn't matter too much, I'm mostly just looking for a pretty skirt that flares out =)

Thanks, everyone!

Oh, and if there's a better place to post this, let me know =)

I finally got a chance to finish some jewelry. All the charms are reversible with a photo on one side and a quote on the other! Stuff from: Daria, Twilight, Tinkerbell, Alice in Wonderland, 16 Candles, Beverly Hills 90210, and the Little Mermaid.

I've been working so much that I haven't had a chance to post images of my new journal. So today is the day. I made it right before the end of the year and was so busy, I didn't get a chance to work in it until mid-February. Here's what it looks like along with what I've done in it so far.

journal 2009 - front
The front has old lace and letters embedded in it.

Here are more photos of the book and what's inside so far. )

Sorry craftgrrls, I have no picture to post, just questions :3

First of all, on orientaltrading.com I came across a rather fun 3-d easter egg craft set (as can be seen here: http://image.orientaltrading.com/otcimg/41_1164a.jpg?resize(250x250)  )

sadly, they don't ship overseas, but id like to make some for easter, does anyone have a pattern for a 3-d type egg?
I've exhausted my google skills and came up with exactly nothing. (alot of egg cozies though, but thats not what i want!)
I could try to make them  without a pattern, but from the past I have learnt that even after several tries, ive never succeeded in making a 3-d anything myself xD

also, ever since I came back from the states with my jar of modpodge I've been happily modpodging over well, alot of my crafts. Then a while back it all of the sudden hit me, does mod podge yellow over time
I'd hate to end up with a bunch of yellowed crafts after a couple of years :(

I had a pretty productive week. I did some different things. I tried some new glasses and some old ones.
