A bunch of people asked if I'd make a tutorial on how I made those shirts a few days ago, sorry if it's awful.

Step by step instructions with tons of pictures... )

i have a boatload of sand dollars that my mom and i caught, dried and bleached from a trip to my hometown in south carolina to see my grandfather before he died. as you can imagine these are pretty special to me and have a ton of sentimental value. i would like to paint them and cover them with resin to harden them but my last attempt at this did not go well (the sand dollar soaked up all the resin!). i even tried laying down a layer of sealer first.

any ideas on how to seal them so they can be painted and then cast? they have been sitting in my garage forever and really feel the need to do something with them. am thinking about framing a mirror or something (my grandparents had a mirror like this in their house)

btw happy belated easter everyone!

And if you're bigger than a 6x then what size are you going to look for? And how many yards do you think someone beyond a 6x would need for  a sun dress? And what kind of fabric would be best if you want cutesie prints and most cotton  fabric is to thin and scratchy for a dress?

My fiance actually came up with the design (he rightfully insists I give him credit!), and we made this army of bunny heads together as a treat for my cousins and our son on their Easter egg hunt yesterday. They're needle-felted with fluffy acrylic yarn.

I've liked owls for a long time, but for some reason in the last couple days, I've just been obsessed. So, I've decided to craft my way through it.

this one's creepy: Looks like it got punched or something. )

Photobucket I have no idea what I'm going to do with this one. Maybe just frame it or something. Any ideas? It's just a piece of knitting I still had on my needles from an abandoned project forever ago that I decided to bind off and then felt an owl onto it.

Then I made a 3D version of that owl, since I liked how it came out so much:

Way back when I first read Watchmen, I was inspired to utterly destroy Alan Moore's vision via the medium of crafting. Now, finally, I have finished* the project I started then: felt chibi versions of the Watchmen characters!

(Click for bigger, over at my DeviantArt)

They're made from felt, embellished with marker pen/acrylic paint/ribbon/etc, and they each stand about 12-15cm high. It doesn't show in this picture, but I made Dr Manhattan... anatomically correct.

* Although I am quite tempted to try and make the squid from the graphic novel next...

Hello ladies, I'm trying to find what type of fabric this is (pictures behind the cut). I found the photos over at [livejournal.com profile] fatshionista, but I do own the same skirt, and wish to sew with the polka dot overlay.

I can't seem to find this anywhere! )

All stones, leather, beads/gems are real. On the Starburst the beads in the webbing are real swavorski. :3 The wolf one amethyst, jade, moonstone. ;) CROSSPOSTED so sorry if you see this twice..n.n;
