I was way too inspired by the recent post of the little house, so I ran off and made one that won't get much use for a while as my daughter's only 5 months old :)

I just bought some really cool mugs from our local grocery outlet for 99 cents each. They're black and squarish with a vivid red inside. They remind me of the Twilight books and I'd like to either paint or decoupage them...but what I'm curious about is, what could I use afterwards to seal them so my designs don't wash away yet they still remain safe to drink out of?

Hi,
I just joined this community today so I am sorry if this has already been asked.
I just inherited an old singer sewing machine. So far I can do straight lines and I am okish with curvy lines. I was would like to try some simple sewing projects or even exorcises to help me practice and learn more.  I would love it if someone could suggest website or the like for VERY beginners. I should mention I have no idea how to use a pattern and I have only been sewing for about 3 days.

thanks

i volunteered to sew two outfits for an upcoming fashion show in school. today was a dress rehearsal and the other designers' outfits totally outshone mine... granted most of the others have plenty of design experience and i have none... although this show is not a competition, i'd still like to be able to hold my own...

more! )

I was looking on this website for something else, and saw this iron-on transfer paper. The description sounds amazing, but does it live up to the marketing in your experience. I've bought printable transfer paper before that's been rubbish (it had a greenish cast and faded really badly) but also bought a couple of home printed transfers off ebay that were great quality. The paper's expensive because it's imported from the US, but if it really is fantastic, I don't mind paying more. Anyone used this TAP stuff before, then?

Argh!! I trusted either [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl or [livejournal.com profile] seattle to keep me informed of these things!

Any other Seattleites (or at least Washington people, I'm driving from 150 miles away) planning on going to Urban Craft Uprising tomorrow?
