For anyone who missed the last post and for archiving/memories etc sake here is a short tutorial for making "dread" hair falls.   =^___^=

Supplies:
knitting yarn, i chose boucle and regular yarn and used 3 colours
hair elastics, the fabric ouchless ones, about 6" circumference
scissors
a hell of a lot of patience

Step one:
Make a ton of braids (remember they will be folded in half so measure accordingly)
A lot of the braids I made are almost 60" in length before folded.
I believe I have 30 on each elastic but you can adjust according to your liking.

Step two:
Once all the braids are done, you tie them onto the elastic (fold in half then tie in a knot) I didn't tie mine super tight just in case I had to remove one, which I did end up doing.

Step three:
The twists are two braids wrapped around one another. Once that is done, wrap a contrasting colour around the braids in the opposite direction, that is key!!
Tie the ends together and voila!! You have yourself some yarn falls!!

ATCs ahoy!

I've become obsessed with making artist trading cards (ATCs). If you don't know what they are they are like baseball cards without the baseball and are infinitely awesomer. There aren't many rules with ATCs. The two big rules are that they must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches and they can only be traded, never sold. They can be any media or mixture of media.

Anywho, have a look! All images are 300x400px. The ATCs were photographed with with my phone (HTC G1 ftw!) so the quality isn't epic. (Boo!)

I have an insane amount of hair ties.
I have an issue with them having to match my outfits.

I'm looking for a way to sort them
I have them sorted by color
in 15 different piles scattered on a bookcase in my apartment.

pictures behind the cut! )

EDIT WITH FINISHED PRODUCT! )

Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL

Thanks in advanced,
Andi

This is my first one--kind of a prototype and practice peice.  Made with recycled electric fencing wire.  I only did it single strand insterad of my usual double twisted strand, which is far more difficult to weld.  You can see my blotches, but the overall idea revealed itself i think.  Think fall :)
