so couldn't work on a big project. So instead, after making quilted tote bags for other people, I finally made one for myself. Yay!

This is my first attempt at cross-stitching text, or pretty much anything else. I am rather pleased with the outcome even though the martini glass is sort of wonky. The whole thing is basically coaster-sized, about 2 to 3 inches high.

Next week is the bi-annual Bloggers’ Quilt Festival hosted by Amy at Park City Girl from October 9 through to October 16.

If you’re a quilter, and have a blog and would like to be part of the festival, all you have to do is choose a favourite quilt that you’ve made do a post about it. If you’ve already done a post about it, you may wish to revamp it, or simply do a re-post.

From last spring’s quilt festival, I can advise that if you have good pictures and nice talky-talky to go along with it, you’ll get good response.

Then, during that week, go to her blog and post a link to that post (not your whole blog, because when you’re looking at nearly a thousand quilts you don’t want to have to scroll!), and that’s it! Prepare for traffic, comments, new quilty friends and maybe even a prize!

I was sick of not having a good purse or not having a more 'me' purse so I made one. I used Simplicity pattern 3531. I got some really great and cute fabric from Hobby Lobby and here it is. All of it is hand sewn, I think the next one I make will be sewing machined. This took a long time, and I probably should have used that time for studying. This purse can hold a lot too, I walked to the grocery store and bought a big thing of vegetable oil and various other heavy things and the purse did just fine as a grocery bag as well.

Purse of Holding )

The inside has three pockets along one side, I think the pattern wanted me to put three more but the fabric cutout page didn't show I had to cut out that much fabric, so I went without the extra pockets. Worked out just fine.

Hey ive seen tonnes of people wearing these dolly mixture braclettes
so i made my own and heres how to do it :)
And be nice its my fist time on here! :D
You will need:
Fimo (or any other polymer clay)
Acrylic paints
Clear nail varnish
Thread/wire
Chain (optional)

Step one-
Mold the fimo into the shapes of the dolly mixtures, its good to have one for reference.
You can used colored fimo but personally i find it easier to use white then paint with acrylic paints.
Now pierce a whole though them in the appropriate place where you want to thread it.
Now put these in an oven for 30 minuets on 130 degrees.

Step two-
Now once these are out of the oven and cooled now paint them with theacrylic paints,
you will need a reference for colour or you can get creative and make them glittery and
whatever colour's you want, but for mine i used a pastel theme to match the real dolly mixtures.
Wait for these to dry.

Step three-
To glaze them and give them a professional effect i use clear nail polish, you can use
professional polymer clay (fimo) glaze but for me clear nail polish works just as well and
its about a twentieth of the price. wait for these to dry.

Step four-
Heres the fun bit! Now you can get as creative as you like whilst stringing the
now dolly mixture beads on to your thread or wire and its good to see it really
coming together! For mine i added chain, if you are interested in how you
would add the chain see
my method here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXceOusqRn0
And here is your gorgeous finished result!

It's been aaaaages since I last posted here. Anyway, me and a couple of friends got together and started up an Alternative Crafters group in Melbourne, Australia and it'd be great if we got some more members! We've just started but plan on epic Stitch n Bitch, bulk buying, community workshops in the future!

The tutes for some of these are on my Cut Out + Keep account and I'll be adding more and pictures in the near future.

So I would like to make a Max costume from Where the Wild Things are, I'm not sure how to make the crown, any ideas?

Also, anyone know where to get some adult sized footed-pajamas? :)

Thanks :)
