My 11 year old craftgrrl decided that she wanted a Pokemon toy, so she made one all by herself from scraps she found around the house. I am so proud. Of all the Pokemon, she chose Shuppet because of the materials she could find. I love how she inserted half of a plastic Easter egg over the sock and into the head to make it pointy. None of it is sewn:

Hello! I just wanted to share some recycled wool soakers (they go over diapers, cloth or disposable) that I have made in the past few months that I am pretty proud of. I started out making them for fun, which grew into a hobby. A little over year ago, I was one of those people who swore up and down that "I don't know how to sew". When my son was born and I couldn't find anything I liked for him, I finally decided to suck it up and learn. I am pretty much all self taught, even though my mom has been sewing pretty much her whole life, she never taught me. Anywho, I love appliques & embroidery so I am constantly pushing myself (with the help of my artist husband) to try new ideas that pop into my head. Here are just a few of the ones that I really liked how they turned out.
