I made socks!
Sep. 18th, 2010 08:34 pmThey're the Shalott Sock by Kristle Chester with a couple of modifications. I added an extra inch after the toe to account for the yarn being a little too fine and I modified the toe to be right- and left-specific. That on top of the arch shaping makes them fit exactly to my feet, which few socks do (ugh, bunions). Plus, the toe she uses doesn't leave any nubbles on the inside to rub. The colors are richer than they appear in the picture--my camera has an overenthusiastic flash.
NEED HELP, PLEASE.
Sep. 18th, 2010 09:56 pmi recently purchased some pendants without realizing that they didn't come with chains. i don't know the first thing about jewelry making so could someone please steer me in the right direction? whether it's materials to buy or where to buy the chain i need.
i would need two separate chains that hook onto the loops & connect in the back.

something like this, in which the links are big enough to be able to adjust the length of the chain.

THANKS!

Handmade sandals help
Sep. 18th, 2010 11:12 pmI made my own sandals!
I just have a question about the toe end. When I walk, it tends to catch once in a while. I tested them out for the first time on the carpet and my toes continually caught on the fibers when I pushed off my toes. Is there a way to keep the sole more attached to my foot? I thought about making a toe cap of some sort, but I'd like to keep these open-toed.
Any ideas, creative people?
( Pictures, the fun part! )
