I did this today at Lifeways! A needle felted Earth Mother. I've never needle felted before and it was a lot of fun. And I managed not to stick myself with the needle. Go Me!

Not sure if this is allowed, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. It does involve crafting. :)

My name is And and I am doing this project called Valentines for Veterans.

What we are doing with this is making Valentines Day cards to give to the men and women in the Los Angeles V.A. hospital. People make the cards and then send them to me and I will take them all over in one big go on Valentines Day. These cards don't take much time to make, but the joy that they bring the people who receive them can last for weeks.

If you are interested in joining this or just finding out more information, feel free to browse around the community here on lj, [livejournal.com profile] valentines4vets. Information is in the profile here

 Hello Craftgrrls!

I've got a knack for creating poppets - which are dolls that are used for magick and ritual use.  I've decided to parlay this ability into something that can make me some extra cash for the holidays.  I'm NOT NOT NOT selling anything in this post, just showing off the fact that I FINALLY got off my ass and made these things.  They are for sale, but NOT in this post.  And these are only the first of 4 kinds of poppets I plan on making up.  So you might see a lot of me in the coming weeks. :)  Hello poppet . . . )

So, I have this pair of cheap black fishnet pantyhose. I'm ashamed to say that I bought them at one of those seasonal shops that's only open right before Halloween. They're just plain black fishnet pantyhose, with a seam running up the back of each leg. I managed to wear them twice, but the seam in the crotch failed, and now what I have is black fishnet pantyhose with a giant hole in the crotch.

Yeah, I can still wear them, but they might be better used for something else.

Ideas? Tutorials? I know someone who made a pair into sleeves to wear under a T-shirt, but I'm not sure how she did it, and all I can imagine is a hunch in the back under my shirt where the panty section bunches up. "what's that?" "Oh, it's my spare butt."

I don't want to cut them until I know what I'm doing; I don't want to end up with a pile of useless mesh that can't even be used as a cleaning rag.

Thanks in advance!
