The new one;

Simple picture frame ornaments made out of buttons.  Was bored one day and trying to figure out what I could do for my friend for Christmas.  I did picture frames for her last Christmas as well, only I used clay that time around.  Was trying to think of something different when I remembered I had a stash of buttons I had bought about a year ago.  So I came up with this idea.  Very simple, just used a glue gun to glue the top buttons onto the bottom ones.  In the future, if I make them again, I'll probably use my E6000 glue or something similar.  Only reason I didn't this time was because I couldn't find it.  Used simple Elmer's school glue to glue the pictures to the back.  Even made the hooks myself.  Woo, go me.  I'm thinking of maybe gluing some magnets onto the backs so that she can still use them even after Christmas is over.

The old one;

A crayon roll.  I did this back in August for my friend's daughter's birthday.  She loved it (both mom and daughter).  It turned out pretty decent for a first try.  Had some trouble with the ricrac and it's a bit uneven but it was for a 4 year old.  So yeah, she didn't mind.  I plan to do one for her brother in the future but that's a ways off...considering he's not even 2 yet, haha.  Anyway, tutorial can be found www.skiptomylou.org/2007/04/25/on-a-roll/  I think next time I'll leave out the ricrac, see how it turns out that way.

Amazon is offering a free year of their Amazon Prime service (normally $79 a year) to any student with a .edu email address. Not only does this give you free 2-day shipping on all orders, but you can also get next day shipping for $3.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info

If you're an avid Amazon shopper, this would be a great time to have free 2-day shipping due to their week long Black Friday Sale.

Hi all, my mum recently received a binbag full of old black leather handbags from the brother of an old friend and neighbour who passed away a couple of years ago. They're not the prettiest bags, but we don't want to throw them away, so I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could do to the bags to jazz them up a bit or change the look of them completely.....

thanks :)
