Hiya folks,
I've been lurking for a little while and this is my first post.
I've got several frames in my bedroom that are on the wall without pictures - I know, how boring...since I've not yet been inspired to go out and take my own photographs to fill these frames and I'm waiting to have maternity photos taken, what can I do to fill these frames?
They're gallery frames with black wood framing and the walls in my room are painted a dark red, so I'm looking for something to compliment the color of the room...I thought about just black and white but I almost feel like I need a pop of color in there somewhere.

Thanks in Advance!

Hello! Does anyone have any experience with using anything other than porcelain slip in plaster-of-paris molds? Full details behind the cut, since this is a specialized question.

Thanks to Smeddly for the inspiration much needed therapy, I started my own crane project too. I am nearly to 200 and might have been to 300 by now had I not been distracted by these three:

CranesTiny2 CranesTiny1

White crane was made from a paper just under 3/4". The middle crane was made from a paper just over 3/4" and the last crane was made from a paper 1". The white one stands just under 1cm, the middle one stands just over 1cm and the last one stands just under 1.5cm.

The two on the right I made with my blunt and very short nails, a paper clip, and a push pin. The one on the left I made with needle nose tweezers, my fingers, and a push pin.

I am making 1,000 cranes.

I am working my way down to as small as I can do. The white crane is actually tracing paper and his tail had to be trimmed cause of my impatience (it folded wrong and tore a little).

Hi everyone! I like taking old, unloved silver spoons and transforming them into sparklie fun jewelry. It's my way of recycling I guess, turning trash back into treasure and reusing existing metal instead of supporting further mining. Just wanted to show off some of my recent pieces :)

Kind of an "in-the-works" post along with a small question...

So I've been working on these dread falls..out of yarn, not synthetic hair because frankly I don't want to spend the extra money and I like how these are coming out :) So these are made from wool yarn wrapped around some strips of extra material. I've made yarn falls before (I posted a pic of me wearing some in my raggedy ann-esque halloween costume), but these are my first dreaded yarn falls. I've only gotten a few done so far and my hands are killing me!

But I do have a question.. )

Does anyone know how to make rag ball ornaments?   I'm not talking about the type where the strip is wrapped around, but one where the raw ends stick out all around.  Are little pieces of fabric just stuck in with pins into a styrofoam ball?  I saw some on etsy, which I don't think I can link to.  The etsy ones looked like they might be using ribbon pieces, but I know I've seen them done with fabric.

Latest in a series of Sherlock Holmes scrap collages. I have a few more things I've found to add but this is the basic product. I got the frame at a garage sale but I had to pay $10 for it. More than I wanted to pay, but I really wanted it.

Hey everyone. My friend and I got into amigurumi last year. We've been doing all sorts of cartoon, anime, comic and video game characters. Every time we make a new one I get all excited about how cute its face is (the latest was a Jawa and I couldn't stop playing with his hood).

Anyone else do amigurumi? Our other stuff is on our Facebook page if you wanna check it out. (Sorry if linking to a Facebook page is against the rules. I will take it down if it does.)
