doll material

Hi guys

I'd like to start making some dolls (well mainly an awesome idea of a doll I've had for my daughter) and I was wondering what you all think are the best materials for doing so? I've read a lot of you use felt, is it any particular kind? Also I'd like to make fairly large dolls (like rag doll size) any tips?

So.. I got my order of Kokka fabric in, and I am just over the moon with it. If you've never had linen and cotton blend fabric before, it's just beautiful. I love the weight of it. I still have to wait for some zippers to come in so I can use the rest of it, but I was able to make a few things in the past few days with the stuff I have on hand.
So here's some new stuff, and a continuation of my Pay It Forward project.



earrings, but I'm considering taking the larger pair apart and turning them into bobby pins. hmm.
