I've wanted one of these for a while, and found a great tutorial for making linen flowers here. Then I just glued it onto a hair clippy. I'm so pleased with the results, and it was super easy to make (about 20 minutes).

Instead of sewing each layer, I layered it all together and sewed it all at once. I had the leftovers in my scrap fabric box (i actually used tulle and alternated between muslin and linen squares) and the rhinestone is a button from an old shirt.

fabric flower!

I don't have a craft yet (Darn! I'm working on large-scale DIY projects & the business still) but, I wanted to know what your FAAAVOURITE craft blogs are. I prefer blogs with lots of writers, or someone who does multiple project types (So not just a crochet blog, a sewing blog, or a paper mache blog) I need lots of recommendations!

I have the Craftzine blog and Sew, Mama, Sew! right now, but SMS doesn't update that frequently with very interesting things, and I've exhausted the Craftzine articles already.

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting, but I'm big fan this community.
I did this project yesterday and I thought I would share. This is my first attempt at fabric clock. The original design called for patterned fabric, but I decided to make the clock in tribute to one of my favorite shows, Supernatural. Here it is!

I have two boys, 2.5yo and 5.5yo and they love arts and crafts. I'm always looking for inspiration, and thought I'd share some of the stuff we do. Here's a roundup of things I've made for them, things we've made together, and just general easy kid art projects. :) I get most of my ideas from these three sites:

  • crafty crow
  • that artist woman
  • art projects for kids

we also have a book called 501 tv-free activities. it contains a lot of fun stuff, not just crafts and arts but things you can do outside as well, instead of just watching tv.

here's a little roundup of our crafts from the last few months or so, including links where I found tutorials and such:
