Hello, ladies. I'm curious if there's anywhere I can buy actual 24 karat (or however many karats) gold paint. I tried google but keep coming up with results to buy things that are painted gold and... no bueno.

I got a 12-days-of-Christmas charm bracelet for Christmas and there's one charm I think should be gold (five golden rings, of course), so I only need the teeniest tiniest amount, but I have no idea where to buy such a thing.

I made this Waves shoulder cosy using a pattern & yarn from Nude Ewe for a friend's Christmas present. The yarn comes from sheep used for conservation grazing, I used Wensleydale.

Photos are pre-blocking. More details on my Ravelry...

My present from [livejournal.com profile] xnikki118x arrived today! Unfortunately, my camera is being all sorts of unhelpful, so I can't take pictures of it, but the wreath is lovely, and I just love the little wire tree! It's taking pride of place on my desk.

Thanks so much!

Look what came in the mail today! )

The fact that I got my gift made me even more worried about the one I sent (though I did send my recipient a PM explaining the weird Portugal->Canada mail thing), so I went to the PT post site to track it and it says my gift was flown to Canada on the 22nd. *side-eyes Canadian mail*

Here is the fabric postcard I made for the Kwanzaa exchange. The ear of corn is stenciled
on felt. The corn (muhndi) is placed on the mkeka (woven straw mat) to symbolize the celebration
of children, community, and family. Kwanzaa, the African American holiday celebrated from
Dec. 26 through Jan 1. is a Swahilli term that signifies "first fruits of the harvest".

I love everything about the holidays. When I was a child we started preparing for Christmas
shortly after Thanksgiving. We put the decorations up 2 weeks before Christmas and took the
tree down before 12am New Years eve. Over the holidays I will be quilting the Kwanzaa top
I made for a neighbor and upstarting several other holiday projects. It is never to early
to start Christmas projects. I miss dad so very much as this is our first Christmas
without him. He loved the holidays so much and always helped out with the Christmas dinner.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday with family and friends and may it be filled with
joy and happiness.

luv 2 learn,
Angela
