So a couple weeks ago I got my sewing machine fixed that has never worked as long as I've had it. (I've had it for like, 4 years, but it's my aunt's ex mother in-law's old machine so I don't know how old it actually is...)

Anyway, before that, I was sewing all by hand. It was a pain in the ass but very rewarding when things turned out nice.
So beware. There are maaaannnnnnyyyyyy pictures, pre and post sewing machine repair.

I made this a couple months ago on a sewing-binge where I worked for three hours straight. It's four t-shirts. And some big plastic buttons I got in a bag of buttons for a dollar at Target.

The shirt sounds out "maryland" in Hebrew, my sister goes to UMD.

This is a crazy mix of a shirt from this summer and a plain white shirt, hand-sewn. Probably made before the skirt...

Then, the week after I made the green skirt (or maybe two?), I made this one, two layers. Two black shirts for the bottom layer, three white shirts for the top and one tie-dyed shirt for the waist. All by hand. Probably 4 hours for the whole skirt (I took breaks, though) and like, a million more for the stupid yellow thread detail that's still not done.

And the day after the green shirt, I made this ipod cozy (by hand...many hours...):

A couple weeks ago (like, two days before I got my machine fixed) I decided I needed a little bag to carry my wallet, phone, and chapstick. So I made a reversible bag with two shirts...and the hem of another for the strap.

"Family Sized Sarcasm, Subtle Yet Bitter"... a really old shirt from Urban Outfitters. There's a button on each side and a loop so I can close it.
Then I got my machine fixed and did this on each side of the strap:

Now, on to post-machine fixin':
I actually made this one out of five shirts (four Disney shirts, 1 white) at my friend's house on her mom's sewing machine:

Almost mastered the ipod-cozy:

The two on the ends are from cut-off sweat pants and the middle is navy t-shirt with white shirt lining and pocket. Shoelace ties.
unfinished pink hoodie made from this weird sweat-shirt material skirt that was my sister's. (it's less cool then it sounds.)

I made this skirt with a bunch of shirts and a stretchy shirt for the waist that looks really cool with the bleach I splattered on, but photographed horrrrrrribly, one day I'll get better pictures, maybe.

Hybrid of Gap Favorite long-sleeved tee, I used the ends of the sleeves to lengthen sleeves on a another shirt, hah. And an I Love Bob Barker shirt from cottonfactory.com (the domain may have changed, I don't know).

Also, I stencil. Flamingos In Formalwear. www.myspace.com/flamingosinformalwear has the whole story behind it and crap.
