Picture heavy post
Sep. 9th, 2007 07:42 pmSo, my roommate finally got her digital camera working, so I swiped it for a while to show off some of the projects that I've been working on. And so you guys wouldn't think that I was just going to lurk indefinitely. Here are two purses and an afghan that I'm really proud of and really irritated with. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking!

This bag I really just recovered, it was some god awful faux leather thing from Claire's that read "Mrs. Timberlake" and, well, I had to save it.

I just love this patch. The back is plain pinstripe. I think Badtz is pissy because he knows whose name he's sitting on.

This bag I made just copying an old jean bookbag I had lying around. I'm not really a fan of this shade of magenta normally (ignore the pillow and the sheet it's sitting on because that completely disproves what I'm saying) but this brocade was just so pretty.

And then... my opus. Really it's the first time I've ever played with a crochet pattern. The original just called for the strips of granny squares (there's six variations of the square in there) but I used a smaller needle, so I felt like to give it more width I'd add some extra stitching, rounds of puff stitching, double, and then triple crochet, which looks good, but darn it all it also looks like I made ruffles. Which I feel makes it sloppyish. But then, it took forever and it's my first big project, so feh. But yeah, next time I know what to do differently.

And here's close up so you can see the individual squares a bit better
