i just wanted to say how much i love this community. i love reading all the posts and it's all so crafty and inspiring. hee im a dork. by the way this is me, [livejournal.com profile] theartfuldodger on my new journal thing. yes. you all inspire me so. even your questions give me ideas.

ok. so i have decided of some things to do with my like, 9 peices of felt. i'm going to cover a notebook with some to make into a journal for school, and then im going to make little flowers and apples and pin them onto things. because i have quite a few safety pins. hmm. i can not wait to receive my school books, even if my teacher doesn't require me to cover them, i'm going to. because i have this really thick book cover stuff that i've had for like 2 years in mass supplies and it's not gone yet haha. and i am going to decorate my books with felt letters and stickers. yay. i'll post pictures? maybe i'll inspire someone. hee.

I've gotta agree w/theartfuldodger that this is *such* a great community. This is my first non-response entry (i.e. first time on the front, craftgrrl page) - hooray!

I've got questions brewing, but today I've got a new page on my site folks might enjoy:
easy-clean, paper-cup candle-making
http://www.loosetooth.com/Art/Work/candles.htm

I'm a big fan of making candles. Strangely, I like making them a lot more than burning them. But clean up is such a hassle. So, last time I made 'em with my favorite method that is super easy to clean up and uses really basic materials.

Please check out the page and let me know what you think!
Thanks - Brandy.

Hey everybody :)
I've been lurking for a while in this community and I think its high time I introduce myself.
My name is Angela, I make patchwork clothing, candles and soap you can see some of my work at China Cat Creations.

Here's my question:
I have a plain white wall in my apartment....I'm pretty sure it's plaster (kinda stucco like).
the texture is vaguely smooth (smooth enough to stick things on)
I found these neato wooden stars of varying size and I want to paint them and stick them to the wall somehow. What would you suggest using? I am renting and I can't do anything permanent so I was thinking about using command adhesive, or something of the like...any product suggestions??

These are some projects I’ve been working on lately. I’ve not yet gotten the hang of working with patterns. I still have to get a little help interpreting the instructions – especially those translated to english, so I usually just work freehand.

so, yeah, enjoy enjoy )
