I've made these nifty celtic-knot tiles. They're about 3 inches square. I've painted them out in blue (background) and silver (knots), antiqued them, and sealed them with a pretty gloss finish.....Now, I don't know what to do with them. I want to do something special with them, but I don't have any idea of what.

This community has the niftiest ideas. Could you help me over this artistic mental block?

Can I make my own CP soap mold?
I just want the basic square soaps for my CP I am going to try. (I found a really easy recipe and its so easy to understand!)
Could I just make a square box out of wood and line it with something?
Also what the heck is castile?

This weekend I will craft! I have the makings for yarn flowers, button jewelry, button and yarn flower magnets (if i can find my magnets), and I just started crocheting a big black shawl for myself!

Ooh! I just had an idea! I could make flowers with the center part a button and yarn for the petals!

Yay!

Hewwoo.. Just joined yesterday.
I love doing crafts.. been planning on making my own soap soon in fact.
So far, I've done my own massage oils, bath oils, salts.

The only frustrating thing, is that most of my friends don’t really like that kind of stuff,
so when it comes Xmas time, I am stumped on who to make and give these kinds of gifts to.
Grrr.

I need more crafty girl friends. Lol.

Who was it that was posting a ton of links to pics of skirts she'd made for a while? I'm wanting to look at them for ideas for stuff I'm making if that's okay.

Does anyone have any ideas for good fundraisers? We need to do a fundraiser for work(at a not-for profit arts and creativity center), preferably one to do with art. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance :D

Here is the EASIEST soap recipe I've seen so far, and because it doesn't contain lye, would be great to do with kids.

It's from Martha Stewart, right here: http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel1105

Oh, and I don't think you'd HAVE to make it into cubes (which I think make a great presentation, anyway), and could pour it into a mold or whatever else you wanted.

I am going to make each of my girl friends a custom basket of stuff for Christmas. I browsed www.marthastewart.com last night and came up with some ideas. The contents, by the way, are totally dependent on what my local craft store has in stock (I live in Canada and not everything is always available here).

In each I am thinking of including:

And that's all I have for now. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh yeah, I think I am going to give jars of the homemade hot chocolate mix as gifts to acquaintances also.

i want to make something for my section in band for christmas. there are eight of us, not including me. four girls and four boys. my original idea was to frame a picture that i took of all us minus myself (because i would be taking the picture) in frames i decorated. it would only have cost $1 for the extra 8 sheets of photo paper, but then i remembered that frames aren't the cheap. i could just do that for just my section leader because she's a senior and i don't think the guys would like pictures anyway.

any ideas about what i could do for the others? i might just forget about the whole thing because one of them and i don't get along and another isn't really close with the rest of us. i could just not give them anything, but that would be kind of mean.

any (cheap) ideas would be wonderful.

I learned a neat pattern stitch for crochet!

It's really easy and quite pretty, and if you have a really tight stitch like I do, it looks almost checkered.

I am working on scarves for my whole family (parents, brother, sister and their significant others.)

The girls are easy, and my sister's boyfriend is into designer stuff so I'm doing his in black and hunter green. However, my dad and brother are notoriously simplistic and outdoorsy, so they're tough. I found the perfect solution for them!

Camouflage variegated yarn!

I started a scarf with it, but the yarn is so thin that it's taking forever and probably wouldn't be very warm. I unravelled it and started again using two strands together and it's so much better. The color gradients are more random like real camo and it's fluffier and faster. I'm all about the thick and quick.
